L.A. Solidworks Workshop

Hello,

Team 4 is currently in the process of setting up a workshop during the week of July 13-17, and we'd like to gauge interest in it. The workshop would be taught by a professor at Cypress College in Long Beach, attendees will be taught how to use Solidworks to design various objects and to 3D print them in-house. The workshop will take place in our school, High Tech LA, and the price will be $250 per team, with a maximum of 5 people per team. Please let me know if you have any questions, or if you, or your team, would be interested in attending.

that price seems very steep for just one workshop.
I would suggest adding more workshops to the mix.

$50/person if you bring the maximum isn't bad, particularly if it's a weeklong course. Though that second part isn't particularly clear...

(Admittedly, if it's a weeklong course, try $50/day for ONE person, and $10/day for 5.) The whole "by team" part of the registration fee, for up to 5 people, is the kicker that makes the course price better.

Especially if they are letting teams use their 3D printer(s). Filament can get pricey pretty quickly...

For the record, you're in L.A., not LA. :(

The workshop is running simultaneously with our Summer Camp (more info here for those interested), it started as a team member's parent offering to teach team members about CAD; we thought that we'd open it up to other teams in the area. We can look into adding more workshops, but this is the only one that's mostly set in stone for the time being.

Sorry about the mix-up, I've fixed the thread title.

Re: LA Solidworks Workshop

Is the Solidworks class still a possibility? I'd be interested. I'm the lead mentor for team Knightrise 5678. If it's for students only, my son is also a team member and interested in coming. I have to pass the word to see if other team members have an interest, but first is the class being offered?

Thanks
