I and my team would like to thank the organizing committee and volunteers for a really fun event. With 36 teams, smooth scheduling, great food, professional A/V, and a beautiful venue, it felt more like a regional than an off season event.

Celt-X had a great experience at Ruckus. We introduced rookie team members to pit scouting (which was as much about getting them to meet other teams and robots as it was gathering data). We got to play our backup drive team, who've been waiting for a turn in the spotlight since January. And we gave our primary drive team their last chance to compete together. The event gave us enough competition stories to tell all year.

So thanks again to the Ruckus crew, and to all the attending teams helped make it so fun and rewarding.

We're glad you enjoyed the event and hope to see you come back to Rah Cha Cha for years to come!

MakeShift would like to congratulate 1114, 5254, and 1285 on their win at this year's Ra Cha Cha Ruckus. Congratulations to the award winners and every team who competed.

4039 has always enjoyed the friendliness and welcoming "spirit" at the Armory and we recommend it to all our friends.

MakeShift would like to thank Kristen, Larry, Jeff, Dante, Koko Ed, and the entire team of Ruckus organizers and volunteers for your mentorship. The opportunity to ask 1000 questions during the planning stages, participate in set up, and shadow your people during the event has allowed us to see first-hand how a well-run event comes together. Co-hosting our first off-season event a month from now, we feel so much more prepared thanks to your amazing support, advice, and patience.

If you can make it up in November, we'd love to see you in Hamilton at the STEMley Cup!

5254 would love to thank 1114 for selecting us for the 2015 Rah Cha Cha Ruckus, and to 1285 for rounding out our alliance. It was a ton of fun and absolutely fantastic working with a legendary team like 1114 and helping our students earn their first event win.

Ruckus is always an awesome event, with our Canadian guests and the local powerhouses making the event competitive and fun, especially our friends on 4039, who bring a their fantastic branding and robot here to make this event great.

222 had a great time at our first Ruckus! Thanks to 639 and 340 for asking us to round out their alliance. We had a great time getting to play with teams we don't get to see in our regular season.

Was there any footage recorded of the event?

1114-5254-1285 W
1126-5406-291 F
1507-4039-378 SF
3015-1405-3044 SF
3173-5030-20 QF
1559-1585-2228 QF
1241-1511-578 QF
639-340-222 QF

The 1114-5254-1285 alliance had an average over 200 in every round, and the 1126-5406-291 alliance was in the high 100's every round.
The cutoff to get into semis was something like an average of 104.

1114 made 3 landfill stacks multiple times during eliminations, including a match where 5254's 3 tote auto failed and caused 5254 to only put up 1 stack due to difficulties with tipped cans.

Thank you to the Rah Cha Cha Ruckus Planning Committee and all the event volunteers.
While our robot failed from qualification round 1 (a blown transmission) all of our alliance partners were graciously professional throughout eliminations. We hope to comeback and redeem ourselves next year.
While driving the 500 miles back home, we had time to discuss what we saw, learned, and look to improve. A very positive experience for our initial ruckus.

Good luck to all participants in Stronghold.

Ruckus also gave our team some important performance milestones:
  • First time we made 3 stacks from the chute during competition.
  • First (and second) time we righted a sideways can before using it to make a stack
  • First (and second) time we performed a "can assist" (robot-to-robot pass) - thanks Team 291!
  • First time we made a capped stack of 7. Oops :)

Thanks again to team 1126 for making us your first pick, and to 291 for a great playoff run. Hopefully you (and everyone else) can join us in Hamilton for the STEMley Cup championship. If not next month, then next year.

Match results and standings are now posted on the Ruckus web site. Here is the direct link to this year's results, including award recipients:

Thanks to all teams who made it out for the event - it's nice to see so many teams enjoy the event after so many months of planning!

If anyone has any feedback (good or bad) they don't wish to post publicly in the thread, please feel free to PM me or submit a message via our contact form on http://ruckus.penfieldrobotics.com/ -- we value all feedback!

This year's Ruckus boasts:
Two Einstein Teams (1114, 20)
Two other teams that made division finals (3015, 4039)
Five other teams that ended up in divisional eliminations (340, 1511, 3683, 5254, 5406)
Five teams that won regionals in 2015 (340, 378, 1114, 3015, 4039)
Six teams that lost in the finals of a regional in 2015 (20, 340, 1241, 3683, 5254, 5406)

Additionally, a ton of teams going have incredibly competitive machines that didn't make championships, like 1126, 1405, and 1507.

Ruckus is going to be sweet.

SIX teams that won regionals in 2015: We weren't world beaters last year, but 4930 was on the winning alliance at Tech Valley in 2015, too.

I stand corrected! 4930 was an essential part of the TVR winning alliance in 2015 and played quite well at Ruckus too. Also, I had 3683 on my list because I thought they were attending, so I had multiple things wrong.

Team 3044 would like to thank and congratulate our fellow alliance partners team 3015 and team 1405 for an amazing competition at Rah cha cha Ruckus 2015. We would also like to thank all of the volunteers and coordinators of the event, thank you!
