On the Passing of a Member

Today we were informed of something that weighs heavy on our hearts. One of our team members, Aaron Hayes, passed away last night. Aaron joined our team in 2011 as one of the first members under my tenure as coach. He was always the first to volunteer for the hard tasks. He always had a willing smile and a confident way of building and designing that was infectious.

At the first event he attended, the Bayou Regional, he spent his time networking and making friends and is, in many ways, the reason that we succeeded that year. He never met someone that he could not talk to and never saw someone that was not worth his time.

Due to some medical issues, he was unable to graduate with his class in 2014 but continued to persevere and walked across the stage in 2015. He had planned on staying on our team as a mentor and had, even soon after graduation, attended demos and events.

Our hearts are with his family - and his heart will always be with ours. Once a Panthrobot, always a Panthrobot. Forever and always.

My condolences to you and your team. I believe I met Aaron in 2011 at St. Louis -- in an elevator :) -- he was extremely excited and a blast to speak with. It is very sad to hear of his passing. RIP

Haha, he still talked about that story even this year. He was always proud of the fact that he was able to talk to people in 2011 at our first championship experience.
