Should totally make one for that 2363 team, you know because I'm unbiased and everything...

I've got 125 in a similar style if you'd like it just lemme know what format.

(For anyone who didn't notice, we had a comparison of our robot, a stack height, and the Boston snowfall totals through early March)

Pretty please make one for 987, 2826, 2512, and 4265!!! That'd be so cool

I kinda figured that requests would happen. A single robot takes a while on it's own, but it's summertime so I'll see what I can do.

What's your process like? From what I can see the one I have for 125 is slightly higher fidelity (omnis have rollers, logos are in place they are on actual robot... different uses) and it took me about an hour and most of that was measuring parts on the robot (it's actually a scale drawing).

I do a rough sketch in mspaint that I base off of pictures online and reveal videos. The outlines are approximately to scale with each other (although certain aspects like Empire's can grabbers are modified slightly to make it more aesthetically pleasing in such a minimalist style). This part probably takes the longest to do depending on the robot. For instance, Empire used to have it's big can claw attached to the back (check their reveal video) and that alone probably took 40 minutes. I took it off in this case because they requested the pic to be in their final form, so I replaced it with their pike. In comparison, Fawkes only took about 15 minutes to sketch IIRC.

Anyways, then I do a wire frame of the robot and fill it in with the team's color scheme. I also look up their logo font (which can take a while; I still don't know what 1678 uses). In total, each one takes anywhere from 30 minutes to 90 minutes. Most of that is probably because it's all done in mspaint.

Every picture of our robot this year had a pile of snow next to it representative of the height we received.

These are great, love the minimalistic design!

We were inspired to make one for 148...

For those asking for other robots, pm me a profile shot or link me a video that has a relatively clean view of the robot. Also, any extra descriptions or rough sketches would be appreciated.

Choi you should charge for these, you'd be a millionaire overnight. Could probably sell some to museums as modern art too.

I'm actually impressed I could never do this in MSPaint. I primarily use a tool called Sketch, it's an alternative to Illustrator. Given good reference material it should be doable to crank out one in an hour or so. For folks looking for open source: I'd suggest Inkscape (I can't stand it but that's because I'm used to tools with UX that don't stink badly)

This isn't even my Final Form!

Seriously though, Abhishek is right! You should definitely get a local museum to display this. (think of the PR!)

Beating the logo out of our media students in a format not requiring some modification was not easy for me(expecting everyone to have PhotoShop >_>), but I can save you the trouble as I have it in .png if you would like it. Would be awesome if it had the actual logo.

I don't think 1678 knows either, because the graphic designer who made the current logo graduated a while ago.

According to highly scientific analysis (OK maybe I just used a font website) the logo font seems to be some form of Avant Garde: https://www.myfonts.com/fonts/itc/av...std-demi-bold/. I'm not 100% sure, but that seems to be pretty close at least.

The font we use for most text beside the numbers in our logo is Bebas Neue. You'll see this font used extensively on our team shirts, bro tanks, videos, etc.

Our media team is developing a formal set of consolidated imagery standards for use and reference in the future

I just realized I could be asking for shirts... If anyone wants to send me some then pm me! You can still ask for backgrounds and you don't have to send me a shirt, but if you offer a shirt I'll be more inclined to have you higher up on the priority list.

I would totally buy a shirt with those drawing on them. That would be so awesome to have that drawing on a black t-shirt... People at school would be confused but, I think that idea is amazing!

Funny you should mention that. That's actually why I made these in the first place. Not sure I'm allowed to say (sorry Mason) but yeah, they're making WC Alliance shirts.

These look great! Our team font that we use for the team name is, as Mike said, Bebas Neue. There is no actual font for the team number because it was manually modified (it's a pain for us to use too), but I'd be happy to send it to you as a vector or png, or just send you the full graphic with the number in the lime as it appeared on this year's robot. Pm me if that would be helpful.
Thanks!
