Java in Southern Michigan

We were rookies last year and struggled with LabView. I should add that we don't have a software mentor. Had it not been for help from other teams at regionals we would not have gotten our conservative autonomous working currectly.

We are considering switching to Java and are looking for students on teams in Southern Michigan, Northern Indiana or Ohio, that would have interest in spending some quality time with a couple of our team members to see if we could run our Recycle Rush bot on Java and help us determine if it would be a more sensible way for next year.

We would be willing to load the bot and travel to your location a day or two if necessary.

Your help is appreciated.

3620 switched from LabView to Java. Contact our lead programming mentor (fovea1959 here on CD) and I think we can arrange something this summer. We are about 2 hours west of you.

A user on the /r/FRC reddit is going to be holding java classes that he will be live streaming and answering questions on this summer. If you decide your team wants to use java this could be a good way to learn.

Summer Demonstration of FRC Programming
Offseason programming YouTube/Twitch/Skype are all welcomed.

66 and 470 use Java, and we would be willing to help out. We are in Ypsilanti. PM me and we can set something up this summer, if you would like.

Thanks for your responses.

I'm going to get the kids involved with the reddit demo and will be in contact with the other two of you if necessary.

Thanks again

Phil
