The SpaceX Hyperloop Pod Design Competition

For all you alumni out there, SpaceX revealed a cool design competition for teams of college level and up engineers to design pods for the proposed "Hyperloop" transportation system.

Official page can be found here.
I was surprised to do a quick search and see nothing about it. One of my friends at RIT is intent on starting a team, and I've been reading up on the whole project for about an hour now.

Who is thinking about competing?

I know for some of us, the presentation date might be the hardest thing to overcome!

1/9/2016- In-person design weekend with all entrants. Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas.
However, the application is real and fascinating and you've got six weeks after kickoff to help build robots too.

Thoughts?

I was wondering when this would crop up around here. No, I'm not going to be involved.
