Summer Swerve Project
1 Attachment(s)
This is the current project that I am working on.
The "cream" colored parts above the module are 3d printed, similar to those on 1991's 2015 swerve modules, except much smaller. |
Re: Summer Swerve Project
Looks very light and strong. A few questions:
-Any reason why you chose to go with a live axle instead of a dead axle (or are you just using a 7/8" bolt)? -How are you constraining the pulley on the CIM shaft radially? -Are you broaching the bottom miter gear for a 1/2" hex shaft? -What are your free speeds and weight? |

The bottom miter gear will be a keyed 1/2" bore, and the rest of the shaft will be 1/2" hex. Free speed is currently 15.89 ft/s with a 5.83:1 reduction. Will be reduced more if I change the top HTD pulleys to GT2. The weight will be posted once I add the rest of the parts. |

16fps is a good number. |

Does the OP have a cheaper source? FWIW, I do agree that a hex broach comes in handy. |

I will be looking into using a 1/2" Hex broach for it, thank you for the recommendation. Also, the weight is roughly 6.75 pounds. |
