CBS - short FIRST video today at 3:00
This is from the director of the John Deere Inspire program:
"As you are aware, the John Deere Classic PGA event is this week in the Quad Cities. As the sponsor for the event, we get to show a 30 second video and our Chairman & President Sam Allen is interviewed live after the video is shown. The topic for the video this year is John Deere Inspire with most of the content on our FIRST related support leveraging the video from 525 you provided for the PTC Conference presentation. During Sam’s interview, one of his topics is the importance of STEM to Deere. The schedule for the video and interviews are as follows: · Friday 4:00 PM on Golf Channel · Sunday 3:00 PM on CBS National Telecast for tournament FYI – 525 is also include in the new special, PowerPoint we created being shown on-going in our JD Inspire STEM Booth at the JD Classic. Thanks for the support from you and the rest of 525!" |

Good job, Swartdogs!
I just saw the spot air on CBS an hour into the PGA telecast...AWESOME! Sam Allen (CEO Deere & Co) described the John Deere Inspire program and the impact of its involvement with FIRST and STEM very well in the interview. It would be great to see more of these spots appear in major sports telecasts: MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL... |
Re: CBS - short FIRST video today at 3:00
The John Deere Inspire program goes back to 2011. A group of Deere executives were getting a tour around champs and were on the field to watch one of our matches. It was Newton, match 81 - a really good match. 842 / 2614 were on the other alliance. 525's alliance wound up winning the match. The Deere executives came back to our pit area and were just as excited as the rest of the team. The John Deere Inspire program director was named a couple of months later and they've been a big support of FIRST ever since.
