On the Road to IRI

Tator Trailer left the spud shed at sunrise today for the 1850 mile trek to IRI. Anyone else on the road today? Guessing 330 must be....?

Looking forward to playing with a lot of great teams this weekend:) .

That is impressive mileage. Bomb Squad trailer is loaded and hanging out in my drive. Just over 500 miles so leaving early Thursday.

Mine is a 580 mile drive and it's always done on a Thursday, usually Thursday night but I took the day off so I'll be driving all day. Warped Tour tomorrow before coming to Indiana the next day.

We will probably leave about 5:30 Thursday for that grueling 6 mile drive.

We're also leaving at 5:30 on Thursday, just a different 5:30.

From Southeast Michigan, we're looking at about a 4.5 hour drive :D I'll be leaving about noon on Thursday. About 264 miles.

1135 Miles for us 233 and 744. Our team starts driving up tomorrow. We decided to stay in a hotel in between the drive instead of dive all the way through like last year. :D

Brings back memories of the horrific 23 hour bus drive to Houston in 2003. Enjoy!

48 will be on the road around 11:00 AM Thursday for a leisurely 6 hour drive.

I think our 25 -35 minute ride might be a little bit more leisurely ;). Thanks to all the teams for traveling to Indiana for this event.

330 doesn't drive to IRI--and I can only think of two occasions that any team member has driven in either direction. They ship the robot, then fly the team.

Thanks Techfire, you guys are the best!

Not truly, the career center is at least a mile away.

Mile isnt too bad if youre walking. Running a mile, however, is modern torture and should not be a part of P.E.

There i was. Driving down to the highly competitive Indiana Regional Invitational and I noticed a slight rumble in my stomach. As the cornfields rolled on so did the realization that there were no eaterys in this barren wastleland they call the crossroads of america. How thoroughly disappointing: i am severely underwhelmed by this lack planning by the IRI planning committee. We were forced to stop at the "golden" arches just to get a lackluster bite to eat, which was stale, greasy, and barely legal under FDA regulations. First sure has gone downhill in the last 5 years. I can't wait until they hold the championship in detroit.

I left Kokomo for Indianapolis at 4:00 am today, to drop off my mother at the Indianapolis airport. I am currently relaxing at the hotel after spending the afternoon helping to set up the pits (including the electrical distribution).

Ha. Electrical distribution for Indiana FTC is basically just bringing a couple hundred feet of extension cord and a power strip and finding an outlet.
