Can anyone post some results? Thanks.

For reference, tournament was played 2v2. Top 7 seeds were randomly paired with one of the bottom 7 seeds for elims

2826/461 beat 5188/234 in the finals. 1024 was the third seed. When the volunteers are done packing up I'm sure someone will post the full results.

Seriously proud of our Lady Goats today and the rest of the team that was there cheering them on.

Big thanks to Cyber Blue and all the volunteers who made this event happen.

Every female FIRSTer should have an opportunity to play in an event like this.

Re: the IndyRAGE - Robotics All Girls Event

With the small number of teams (14) we modified the alliances and playoffs a little.

We played 2 v 2 with a 10 minute cycle time to allow time between matches for repairs, discussions and planning. The slower cycle time was a benefit with so many "new" drive teams and volunteers.

After qualifications, the top 7 ranked teams pulled their alliance partner from a hat, to form 2 team alliances. We then played 7 matches so each alliance played twice, an the top 2 alliances then moved to Finals. Finales were best 2 of 3.

The top 7 Alliances are below.
1 2826 - 461
2 5188 - 234
3 1024 - 829
4 4103 - 3940
5 1501 - 2781
6 3494 - 1529
7 4926 - 1720

For the finals, Alliance 1 and 2 advanced for a best of 3.
Alliance 2 (5188-234) won match 1, Alliance 1 (2826-461) won matches 2 and 3 to be Champions.

For awards, we had "Host / Judges" who spent time with the teams, about 30 - 40 minutes talking with a goal of the Host learning about the team, and the team learning about their host (all professional women, most in engineering / technical roles).

Awards

2826 - #1 Rank
1024 - Awesome Technical Description
829 - Best Use of Controls
5188 - Best Team Dynamics
3940 - Girl Power (Team Spirit)
2826 - Judges Awesome Award
2826 - Mentor Award

Thanks to Perry Meridian High School for letting us host this event, to all of the volunteers (many who were new to FIRST), to the PMHS Dad's Club for doing concessions, and to all of the teams who took a chance on a new event and new event concept. We had an awesome time.

Quick question; does anyone have video of the 461 offseason machine? I have never seen it but from what I have heard/read about it is making it sound like an absolute monster.

I wouldn't really call it a monster but it fulfills a role that not many Indiana robots fill.

DATA

Final rankings based on average qualification score:
1 2826
2 5188
3 1024
4 4103
5 1501
6 3494
7 4926
8 829
9 3940
10 461
11 234
12 1720
13 2781
14 1529

Final rankings based on average elimination score:
1 2826 & 461
2 5188 & 234
3 3494 & 1529
4 1024 & 829
5 1501 & 2781
6 4926 & 1720
7 4103 & 3940

The alliance selection consisted of the top 7 teams picking the remaining 7 teams out of a hat. I thought it was quirky that the only two landfill robots ended up on the same alliance (4926 & 1720).

If you follow the link at the top, I also calculated what the rankings would have been using a traditional WLT system, for my own amusement. It is the red column. (I used alliance scores rather than a strength of schedule tiebreaker because I didn't think SoS applied to this defense-less game).

Team 234 did a great job of hosting this event. Thank you for helping me inspire these young women!

The energy around my team grows each time we attend a wonderful event like this. Can't wait for next year!

Re: the IndyRAGE - Robotics All Girls Event

My favorite part of IndyRAGE actually happened right after the event, and some form of it happens at every event.
It was chilly, spitting rain, vans and trailers were lined up to load out, when one team's toolbox tipped and spilled onto the parking lot and sidewalk. Immediately about a dozen people, all in different t-shirts, converged on the site and made quick work of the mess. One of the girls stood up, looked around, and said, "Somebody should take a picture of this and put it on the website, because this is FIRST right here."
