How to decorate up your robot/demo robot
We decided that we are redoing our 2014/2015 robot with paint and LEDs, also the 2014 robot is getting speakers put onto it. What type of paint do you recommend. I got rustoleum, but do you guys recommend any others?

I normally use Krylon or vinyl dye for painting. IMO, they have a much smoother finish than Rustoleum.

From a lot of experience with spray paint, I would suggest getting some Automotive matching paint in your choice of color(s). This paint (duplicolor, et al) drys in a fraction of time of any conventional rattle can paint. It's dry to touch in 30 minutes. It can be recoated much faster as well.
Some Model spray paints can take a day or more to dry. |

For an inexpensive finish that looks good, Rustoleum Hammered finish looks good. You will be retouching (but that goes for any spray paint).
But I would seriously look around town and see if you can find a company that can help with powder-coat. We have found one near us (30 minutes away) that is willing to powder-coat at cost and on their time. |

Were really just doing it to make it look nice. Its not going to face the heat of competition anymore, so we don't want to spend too much money on it... If we do it, ill be glad to post picture of it on the website
