Re: FRC trivia quiz

100%

(that varsity sport one almost got me though, didn't know how other schools regarded their associated teams)

Nice idea creating a quiz.

I got 90%

I got the "Select all that apply: Which locations has the FRC world championship been in, in the past?" question wrong. (totally forgot that some states hosted championships.. at least I know now)

Re: FRC trivia quiz

Question 6 about which places has Worlds been held really stumped me.

Overall, someone who loves FIRST could get an easy 90% (like me), but I bet many FIRST kids could fail it. Lol. Good quiz.

I did the same. I neglected to remember where a city actually exists.

Final question on varsity sports is too subjective, but other than that it was a pretty solid quiz. If you've been in Chief for at least a year you could probably get them all.

Agreed on the last question... Many schools have trouble listing FIRST as a sport. It may be varsity, but they rank it as an after school activity, not a sport. I'm not aware of any actual numbers that have been run showing how many schools have it as a sport, or as a varsity sport, or allow team members to letter. My gut tells me it's not "most".

Also on the "detroit regional" question... It was listed as a true or false question, not multiple choice! So even though a "more correct" answer is available, choosing false also correctly answers the question.

Re: FRC trivia quiz

9/10

Many schools don't have FIRST. Many that do don't have FRC or FTC (something at the high school level). Many that do do not offer varsity letters or recognize it as a sport, rather just an activity. And then there's all the teams that aren't affiliated with schools.

So I'm sticking with no.

No, FRC is not a varsity sport at most schools. In America, there are ~24,000 secondary schools, and there are only about 3,000 FRC teams in the world (some are not in schools, and some schools have multiple teams). Definitely not most:D

Maybe reword the question and see if you can get statistics to back up the "most schools" since I know my school considered FRC a class. All the other questions were pretty good though.

I changed the question to now say "some schools"

You are certainly right this was also changed to allow both answers to be correct

Re: FRC trivia quiz

90%

I omitted New Hampshire from the list of places that have hosted a FIRST Championship, because I recall (maybe incorrectly?) Dean saying at the 1996 Kickoff that the new event to be held at Epcot that season would be called The Championship. Need to check my paper copy of the 1996 manual ... (where did I put that?) I think that before 1996 the event in Manchester was called The Competition, and of course it was the only one.
