GRITS was a huge success and thanks to Walton Robotics team 2974 for hosting it.

Huge undertaking but great results.

Re: GRITS 2015

First time Grits was hosted by a school. We learned a lot about the dynamics of hosting an event at a school. The event went well (I think). A lot of work by a lot of people made it so. The tireless Ga First volunteers. All the teams that attended. Many First Alumni, some traveling from far away Florida. All pitched in and helped in a typical Gracious Professional way that sets First apart from many other organizations.

What were the results? Can someone post a recap? Alliance selections, etc?

Re: GRITS 2015

Uh, I believe these were the results (team numbers may be slightly off):

1) 2974 4188 4468
2) 4112 3140 4749
3) 4189 1261 1648
4) 5109 1661 1746

(1) v (3) in finals.

(1) was the winner.

Great tournament! Thanks Walton for all the work.

Here is a video of the 208 point round in the semi-finals I think:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kkA8p2KndZ0

Fernbank, FRC4468, worked the landfill and made some fast and clean stacks of 5 and Walton, FRC2974, made its own stack of 6 fully capped plus came over and took the Fernbank liberated cans on the step and capped two stacks of 5. Columbus Space Program, FRC4188, stayed in the corner and made a fully capped 6 and 5. There were 3 pool noodles thrown to the other side for 12 points.

Thanks for making these available! I should be able to give these to the guys over at the Blue Alliance so they can post results on TBA.

Working on posting video from the webcast to YouTube. Elimination matches are still pending due to music copyright issues with YouTube, but I should have those up shortly.

With 11 years in FRC, and dozens of off-season events in the NJ area under my belt, I managed to attend GRITS last weekend. I agree that it was a well-run and exciting event, and the work that went into it was evident.

There was definitely enough room at the school to run a district event, and from what I saw it could be made to happen, perhaps some time in the future. One step at a time though.
