I am looking for a Mentor in my area

I have recently moved to Carlisle, PA and I want to start a FRC team but I cannot find a mentor. I have tried a lot of resources but no adult around my area seems to step up. I would like some advice or someone I can go to find a reliable mentor that can host a FRC team. I have had 2 years experience with handling and managing a FRC team but the only thing I need left is mentor.

If anyone can help me out that would be Amazing!

A great resource for information on how to recruit mentors is you friendly local FIRST Senior Mentor. For you it's Doug Williamson. He can be reached at dwilliamson@usfirst.org.

Happy hunting and check out the FIRST Senior Mentor program here: http://www.usfirst.org/community/vol...mentor-program

I have contacted I believe everyone in a PA and still get nothing and still no reply, plus I have used mentormaps, but nope

I am still trying to get a group of students to get interested but all I need is an adult with time a dedication. I never knew starting a team was so frustrating

I will keep trying but time is ticking for me.

Here's the list of top employers in Carlisle, start going down it and to see what engineering and technical companies are located there, then call or stop by to see if you can make a presentation to the employees. Also check businesses in the surrounding areas like Mechanicsburg - Harrisburg isn't too far and there are likely employees from large technical companies that live in or near Carlisle.

I'm sure you're aware of this, but Dickinson College is nearby. Although it is a liberal arts college, I'm sure some of the students there have done FRC before and could be helpful mentors.
