Buttons, anyone?

Hi all -

A few years ago we purchased 1000 3 inch buttons that fit an American Button Machine. Unfortunately they were the wrong size but I honestly forgot that I even had them. They are still in the box they were shipped in and I will send them to whoever wants to pay shipping for them. If you are interested, PM me and I'll calculate shipping to wherever you are.

Augh! I've got a classic Badge-A-Minit 2.25" badge maker with scorch marks*. I last pulled it out of the semi-melted* plastic tackle box to make HP buttons for CMP, and passed one to your HP.

* - the result of the same fire. An interesting divorce story when told in person, but not worth posting.

Yeah, you right. I need to figure out how we can work a button press into building (or being part of) the 2016 robot.

We gave up on them... had ~60% success rate for OK buttons, 40% for worse than "Belly Flops" buttons :P

They do get better with practice. Don't use heavy (more than 24#) paper. Use a sharp cutting blade for the paper circle. Keep the paper centered on the first press, and press hard every step, including the first when all you think you're doing is folding paper and plastic film. I did about 75% on the HP buttons, after not having used it in at least two years. When I used it several times a year, I was well over 90%. People who use them regularly approach 100%.

Oh, and if you want them to last more than a year or two, use acid-free paper.
