There's one thing that will help: if teams are interested in MXP-based products from any vendor and haven't yet done so already, register interest at AndyMark. This really helps the forecasting activity in the small FiRST FRC market. Please feel free to contact sales@kauailabs.com if you have any further thoughts on what we can do better. |

For items that are in stock - if for some reason purchasing them immediately is not feasible - or if you're aware of a product that is going to be released soon an not yet up for sale, I'd recommend sending an email to sales@andymark.com w/an estimate of how likely the purchase would be and how many of each are likely to be ordered. Influenced by the unknown nature of the game and the short FRC buildseason, my understanding is that sales in general pick up dramatically right after the season starts and then fall off rather dramatically sometime in April. Any input that helps gauge interest in what I'd call "specialty" FRC-targeted products - such as the MXP-based products - that is received outside of that timeframe can only help the forecasting process. |
Re: RoboRIO MXP Breakout
It should be noted that part of the rules structure is to make it possible for inspectors to rule on the boards that teams add. Inspectors come from a variety of disciplines that may not cover electronic solutions and often are performing as inspectors for the first time. While we ask that inspectors come from teams so that they have some FRC robot build experience, they may have never had to work with the expansion port or electronic solutions. You would be surprised to find that this varies with event. Some regionals will have several robots with MXP boards and some may have only one or two. It is the same with other systems as well.
