FTC Offseason Event...
 

Was wondering if anyone hosts an FTC off-season event. I just got talking with our coach (my mom) tonight about maybe trying to do one next May or September here in Iowa if anyone would be interested.

There are bound to be a few off-season events but the main reason there aren't a ton is because of the fact that the FTC off-season is a shorter period of time than the FRC off-season. FTC May-September as opposed to May-January for FRC.

I know that is one of the large reasons we don't have one down here in SC because if tried to hold an off-season together with FRC off-season events (to get a larger crowd) the date doesn't intermix well as FRC off-seaons events down here are in October during the middle of FTC build for the next season.

We run the Asia Pacific Invitational which includes an FTC off-season event. We've found it to be a ton of fun with lots of big name teams (Cougar Robotics, Monkey Madness, Team Beta, Schrodinger's Hat, etc.) attending. Happy to talk more about it, feel free to PM me!
