Posted by Carolyn Duncan on 05/14/2001 9:08 AM EST: We'll play anything good, but mostly punk (I mean GOOD punk) grunge, and metel. Good rock. I have a band back in my town that's kind of the same thing and we have yet to find someone who doesn't like us (besides the parents who have to put up with practice sessions). Think Nirvana, Green Day and Creed (minus the god jibberjabber) all put in a blender set to "Liquify", pour smothly onto a cookie sheet, bake at 350° for 20 minutes, and let cool. That's what we do. : I would love to have a band like this! You guys could play at closing or you could have your own dance party in Epcot. I'd be willing to be in on the stage show (not much musical talent here except singing). I'd even wear my silver wig, or I could stick with the blond spikes. At any rate I think making a band would be a great idea. One question though, what kind of music? : C-ya, : Carolyn |
awesome!

(yes I am from the south, get over it.) My good friends are in a band and that's what they play, they're Rufus Porter, great name cool music. C-ya, Carolyn |

Actually, the spirit of first isn't the robots.

In Reply to: Re: I disagree Posted by mike oleary on 05/16/2001 10:11 PM EST: You can't tell me that music doesn't move you like that. there are songs that when you hear them, they just get you movin, like the rocky song, or the "we will we will rock you" one, and various others. there are also songs that make you happy, like bob marley's "everthing is going to be alright", and songs that depress you, like nirvana's songs. I think everyone reacts this way to songs, and where as they may be different from person to person, a large percentage of people would say that nirvana songs and songs of that ilk depress them. i think their songs are designed too depress. I'm not saying that i'm gonna hear the song and break down and start crying, though i know people are moved to tears by some songs, but i think it will still bring the atmospher down to an at least not-as-happy Mike P.S. The songs given for examples are which ones work which way for me. you may, and probably do, have others in their plac |

Basically any upbeat songs will get people happier and more spirited. Songs that songs more depressing and slower songs usually get people depressed. Can someone please tell me that they are not effected by music?? I doubt anyone is not effected by music. Jeff |

Nirvana is ok, but listening to a guy singin' about "Lookin' Down the Barrel of a Gun" is not my idea of positivity at an event meant to inspire, which usually means uplifting spirits, kids and adults around the country, and I guess the world.
