What PDA do you own?
I used to have a visor deluxe($250 when i bought it, oh yeah:p ) but traded it in for a sony clie s360 this week. I love the replacement plans:D . What PDAs do you guys have?
|
I don't have it now, but as soon as I get enough money, I plan on getting a sexy Sharp Zaurus. Maybe I should get a job first.
|
i have an old palm 3.5 (i upgraded it myself ;)), but it has a barcode scanner! my dad used to work for symbol, so he got all those cool gadgets. of course, jsut because i have one sitting on my desk doesn't mean i actually use it :D.
|
I have a Palm V sitting around somewhere, but rather than a PDA, I'd get a laptop...
|
I have an old palm IIIx, but, like Ian, i find that I hardly ever use it.
|
Palm m100.
I found that I couldn't keep it in my pants pocket and take it with me everywhere. So I started leaving it at home more and more.... I take my laptop with me more places. My dad on teh other hand, usally has a shirt pocket to keep his Palm V in. And he uses it all the time, so it works. Wetzel ~~~~~~~~~~~ Hi-diddely-o, didn't ya know? |
Hp Jordanna 865 of something like that running Pocket PC
|
I have a DaVinci Royal DV1
|
i have a visor deluxe, and its blue :), at my work i have access to all palm pilots ever made, some old cassiopeas, visors, and the new ipaqs which are nice, hehe pocket quake with a compact flash wireless card=nice
|
I currently use a Visor Prism, but before I got this, I used a Visor Deluxe. I would have liked to get out of the Palm system, but cooler PDAs, like the Zarus, are hundreds more. At that point, it makes more sense to get a cheap laptop. ;)
|
I have a visor. not delux, not nothing...
i used it right up till the screen started to die. I've had plans to take it apart and see if it's something i can fix, but i doubt it is. so as of right now, it's just sitting in my desk doing very very little. The one good point is that the stylus has a very nice little screw driver in it that i use rather often. -Andy A. |
I kinda yoinked my dad's since he wasn't useing it at all. It's a blue Handspring Visor. And I guess it's ok. Something nicer would be appreciated... but it works... so i cannot complain tooo much.
I lost all the games i had on it so it's mostly just a planner and "hey i'm bored i think i'll write nonsense stuff on the memo pad." I've gotten pretty far doing the spaceballs script from memory. -Ducky- |
Last year i bought a palm m125. I find it to be great. Whenever i do a report on my computer i just send it to my palm (its like a real expensive floppy disk). I suggest though that if you are considering the m125, pay the extra 50 and get the m130 which is color and more accessible.
|
Since we are digging up dead threads.....
If you are looking for a very good and affordable color screen PDA go with the new Dell (i cant remember the name). My brother, and two other kids on the team have them and it's a really good PDA.
|
I have that new HP iPAQ 1910. It's nice. :)
|
i use the Sony Clie 760. I got it off e-bay, so it was only abo. $200. I like the full color, high resolution display and the mp3 playback. I used to have a Palm IIIxe, but half the screen went blank. I opened it up and found the loose connection, and with my finger pushing down it would work, but when we tried to re-sodder it (without taking out the batteries [OOPS!]) it stopped working altogether.
The inside of a palm, esp. the older ones, has very little electronics inside, just 4 or 5 chips and the display. If you have a broken one, go ahead and open it up and poke around. Feel free to tell me how it goes or if you want help (aaronj@www.com). Just make sure it's off and not powered before you try anything... |
Sony Clíe. I'm going to bring it to VCU.
|
Clie
I own a Sony Clie the new version with Palm 5 OS Works great
|
got it for xmas.
SONY CLIE!
|
I used to have a visor deluxe, but I broke it and now I have a Visor Edge (refurbished). I also have an iPod, which kinda counts as a pda (has a phone+ address listing and scheduler).
|
Toshiba e330. I love it. It's small, it's thin, it's light, and it was cheap. A great buy all around, unless you want CF capability.
|
I'm going to be getting the palm m130.
|
I have a "Matt Attallah"
It came with some optical sensors (eyes) and a few motor movements. It has been with me all my life and it records/sees everything i do! It's built inside me, and best of all, IT'S FREE and NEVER NEEDS UPGRADED!! W00T!! :yikes:  :p |
Dell
Dell Axim X5...... its pretty awesome... much better then those dumb compaqs..... :D
|
SONY CLIE...im just glad i have one at all!:D
|

The only problem I have with it is that it has Windows Media Player and it doesn't play mpegs!!! Stupid thing! And what is CF?? |
If someone writes a scouting software for the Palm OS, then I will be able to get a Palm Tungsten T for free for scouting... SO SOMEONE WRITE ONE!
|
CF = Compact Flash
Tungsten = Way overpriced Palm is a has been Company they will never again be a leader in handhelds. Zire? $99 You could buy a knockoff at Target for $19 that has more features. Best Deal out there Dell Axim BOTH CF & SD Mine=HP Jornada 560 already showing its age |
I used to use a Visor Neo until the screen smashed when I tossed my backpack in the weight room one day.
Now I am using a brandspank'n new DELL AXIM X5. I love it... works great. If anyone wants to give me a replacement screen for my VISOR it would be greatly appriciated. |

I love my Palm m130. Syncing it with outlook and AvantGo is very nice.

If any of you know of anything for the Pocket PC that will do that. Please let me know. P.s. When I used to use my Visor, I used plunker. But they dont have a version for the Pocket PC :( |
I've had a Helio for almost two years now... but after the first year, school started back up... and I never started using it again. I'm really indifferent to them... if you have enough use for them, they are great... especially hot-syncing them with your computer; your parents always know where to find you.. then, my life became school, robotics, and sleep... so I stopped doing that. :)
|
I have a analog watch. :D
It tells time. What else do you need that it can't be filled with with a laptop? (Notice I didn't say "Notebook" or "Sub-Notebook" or "Drive-Less") |

[b]Yeah I love AvantGo.... although I am looking for a similar program that will let me download more than just 2megs of data. I don't know about this, but I believe that there is a paid version of avantgo that will allow you to download more... though I have 10+ news channels on mine and I am no where near a meg. But you are probably looking for a free solution? |

I am the proud owner of a Treo 90. It's been really useful for organizing my stuff, not to mention playing games. :D |
I just bought myself the M130...
|
My dad got his Sharp Zaurus, today.
That thing is so sexy. Linux, PDA... /me drools. |
Hey, either in this post or the other pda post, i asked about a keyboard. I found a keyboard put out by a new company called iconcepts, bought the keyboard (m125,130,500 series), and it works great. its extremely cheap too! I've only found it at compusa.com so theres just a heads up.
|
My Team gets to use some Dell Axim's (which are very nice)
And b/c I'm on the scouting team, I get one for a few months. They're nice, but i'd never kill $500 on one. ;) <--never uses it except for scouting. |
Dude.... your in luck.....
Dell Axims arent $500.... the most expensive is like $300..... the model i got was only $250 w/ a $50 mail-in rebate... so dude..... get a dell |
Actually, you can spend around 500 on the new axim. It depends on how much you add to it.
