How To Know whether we will get a Rookie KOP

Hi all,
I'm a veteran FRC member who became a part of a newly created team this year. As we have more than 5 veteran members like myself, FIRST has us registered as a veteran team. The problem is, we have no access to any of the parts of our old teams from previous years.

My question is, we were under the impression that FIRST makes concessions for teams in situations like ours, and perhaps provided a Rookie KOP, but we aren't actually sure. Is there a way to look on TIMS or somewhere else to know which KOP FIRST will be giving us?

It's important that we know so that we can plan ahead for any parts we need to buy.

Thank you!

Did TIMS charge you the rookie team price of $6,000 or the veteran price of $5000?

Mark has it right the answer is in how much you paid. Rookie teams pay the $6000 because of all the extra stuff that is in the rookie kit of parts.

So if they billed you and you paid $6000 you should be getting a rookie kit, but you should check with FIRST to be certain.

If you do it quickly there may still be time to ensure you get the Rookie kit if you are not currently scheduled to get one. But you will have to act fast as the kits are getting shipped very soon. FIRST is aware that team splits, new teams with experienced participants and teams that are resurrected after a change in control system need a rookie kit to have everything.

My team went through exactly this. We were initially assigned a temporary 2016 team number but were soon reassigned a permanent team number from the 2009 era thanks to the fact that half the team came over from another team of that vintage.

We are a rookie team in every way that counts, including the $6000 fee we paid for the rookie kit of parts.

Good luck this season!

Except that I don't believe you qualify for the Rookie All-Star or Rookie Inspiration awards.

Correct - I meant "every way that counts" in terms of our team members - we are enthusiastic, excited, some of us have done this before, but we haven't really found our team style yet :o

No rookie awards, no rookie grants, but hey look at our team number! I hope that's a worthy trade :P

(I'm kidding, of course. We wanted to let in all of the students who wanted to return, and not have to choose which 5 to take, so it was an easy choice.)
