Anderson power pole connections
Rookie question here.
Our FTC team is in last minute need of some red and black power pole connections for our FTC robots and we are not sure which size to order. We need to add the connections on the drive motors wires that then attach to the speed controllers. What size should we order and where is a good source. Thanks for all you do! |
Re: Anderson power pole connections
I am guessing it is 10 or 12 guage wire but not sure.

Re: Anderson power pole connections
Andymark sells the appropriate size. If you need significantly more, they have other quantity packages available.
Looks like you're from Minnesota - shipping will take about 2 days. |

We found Amazon to be a good source a few years back when we did our search.

Re: Anderson power pole connections
We have been getting our connectors, wire, and crimpers from here. One stop shop. I have not compared prices but they have it all including nice 6awg battery cable.

Re: Anderson power pole connections
The Neverest motor wires are more like 16 gauge wire, while the tetrix motor wires are something like 18 gauge. My FTC team use s 15 amp and 30 amp powerpoles exclusively- the 45 amp ones are overkill for our application. We get ours from powerwerx- for your situation, I get 50 or so of the 30 amp contacts. http://www.powerwerx.com/anderson-po...pole-sets.html
Also- do you have a crimping tool? Powerwerx sells a nice, racheting one. Saves us time fiddling with crimps. If this is your first time crimping powerpoles, be sure to follow the assembly instructions carefully. They can be tricky. Best of luck! Edit: are there any local FTC teams you're in touch with? Chances are they have the parts you need, and you can offer to replace there parts when your order arrives- that'll possibly save you the cost of rush shipping them. |
Re: Anderson power pole connections
Powerwerx tends to have my favorite connectors :) http://www.powerwerx.com/anderson-po...pole-sets.html I have a few spares I could bring up to North Branch with me if you'd like?
See you in North Branch on Sunday! |

Re: Anderson power pole connections
We just put in a big order through Mouser for ours. We haven't received our order yet but I assume they will be fine. If you look up the exact part numbers and order in large quantities they were the cheapest I was able to find. You can also order what ever color you want as well, we are moving to purple and white this year.
45 Amp Tin Contacts $0.105-$0.15 (Tin contacts are rated for fewer mating cycles but we rarely put over 1,500 cycles on any of our contacts) Red Housing $0.201-$0.33 Black Housing $0.202-$0.38 |
