Once we get this thing running, I'll be able to weld at 60mph.

Presenting the worlds first real transformer! A fully functioning, fully transformable Autobot!

* Disclaimer: Not actually a robot. There is no such thing as a real transformer. Suckers.

One of the least safe actions ever... The long sleeves are a hazard in the shop.

Mentor in Yellow: Where did I leave that welding helmet...

Brave Student: I need something so protect my face.

Other Students: Here, this welding mask should do the trick.

Brave Student: Against collisions?

Other Students: Yeah...sure...

Mentor: "We are using a freshman student who is wearing a welding mask sitting on an untested elevator that was student built."
Student: "What could go wrong?"

It's probably too late for these to count, but I have what I think are improvements on a couple of entries:

[James Earl Jones' voice, with reverbations in plastic] Don't be too proud of this technological terror you've constructed. The power to lift a freshman is insignificant next to the power of the FORCE.

With apologies to Pixar's The Incredibles, modify the student response to:
We're roboteers, what could happen?

They say when you're about to die you'll see "The Light", but no tells you how bright it will be. Best to be prepared!

Sperkowsky 18-12-2015 22:00

Safety award is in my future.

It's a really bright day outside, so when they take the robot outside to test, welding masks are a necessity.

"Full speed ahead!"

"On second thought, half speed ahead. I don't want to damage this beautiful welding mask."

MaGiC_PiKaChU 22-12-2015 15:25

Re: CD's Unofficial Caption Contest #597

Student : "No one cared who I was until I put on the mask."

I'm sorry about the delay on judging this one--it's been a hellacious fourth quarter, and it's not quite over yet! (Over 1,700 orders over the past month...ay caramba!)

First place goes to:
