Some teams experienced problems yesterday when they attempted to register for the 2016 FIRST Championship. I apologize for that. In researching the issue, we discovered that an incomplete team list was sent to our registration partner, Experient. The ‘snapshot’ of team data was initially taken in early November, but not updated afterward as it should have been, due to communication issues internal to FIRST. Teams initially registering for events after November 6th did not show up in Experient’s database, preventing those teams from registering for the FIRST Championship.
The immediate situation has been remedied, and a process put in place to provide updated team data twice per week to Experient. While team registration has slowed to a trickle, the data will be kept reasonably up to date from this point forward. Teams in the United States with any issues or concerns should contact Experient directly at 800-758-5590. Teams outside the United States should contact Experient at 240-439-2966.
I apologize again for the issues teams experienced.
