It could be that you need to shoot X numbers of cannon balls into a target before a drawbridge is lowered, and your robot can cross (breach) the other team's defenses.

Now this would be a really fun idea. I like it.

Another game idea that would be cool regardless of whether or not it's the actual game is the idea of "claiming" goals. Say you have to score balls in goals, but the points for the balls only count if you place your team flag on top of the goal. You can also descore the opponent's flags or defend someone trying to descore. There is one big point (5/ball) goal in the middle, with smaller point goals around the rest of the field.

A winning alliance would require both flags and balls to be scored.

Triple Play?

Nice product placement....... FRC 2016 Stronghold- Teams must put flags into coca-cola bottles

'Security breach' a red herring if anything at all. Medieval theme = possible "King of the Hill" component. Flags may play a part in game but unlikely to require direct manipulation by robots. Guess we will know more in 4 days:D

I did too, that and the ladders around point to something high.

Similar, but also different. Not unlike Recycle Rush and Stack Attack.

Whats with the red and black flag? Alliance colors changed maybe?

All teams will be able to hang a banner over their drive station, possibly to eliminate flags. I guess that's what it looks like?

Not quite. Just an additional item to reinforce the 'theme' of the game.

No, we've known about this for a while. They're called team standards. The design regulations have already been released. Google 'frc 2016 team standards' and you'll see what I'm talking about.
