Twas the Night before kick-off

Twas the night before Kickoff, and everyone was proud
Not a creature was typing, not even McLeod.
The code was compiling on the computer with care,
In hopes that Dean Kamen soon would be there.

The students were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of water danced in their heads.
And Andy Baker in his ‘kerchief, and Dave Lavery in his cap,
Had just settled their brains for a long build season’s nap.

When out in the Workshop there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.

The moon on the breast of the new-fallen shaving
Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects behaving.
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a game hint, and eight tiny clues for this year.

With a little professor, so lively and with powers,
I knew in a moment it must be Woodie Flowers.
More rapid than eagles his car made a bank,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called out for Frank!

And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the floor
The crashing, the scratching, and then some more.
As I drew in my head, and was turning around,
Down the Kit Of Parts came onto the ground.

It sprang on the floor, My team gave a whistle,
And away they all atacked it like a firing of a Missile.
But I heard them exclaim, as the game piece came into sight,
"Happy build to all, and to all a good water fight!"
