Aging FRC Mentors/Coaches/Judges/Fans/Groupies

I am just creating this thread to re-assimilate. Holy magic smoke! I have been in the toddler and early kiddo years for a little too long. I feel like a local, but I don't speak the lingo any more. Who's out there that have been around for more than 10 years? Give me a shout out. I learned about and signed up for github and stack-flow accounts today. I have been on the lego planet for far too long.

BTW, this is Mary Beth Prendergast, formerly with FRC Team 692, the Fembots from St. Francis High School, and FRC Team 1097, Site 3 Engineering from Jesuit High School.

Haven't been around quite that long (six seasons of FRC here), but welcome back to the FRC fold!

Season 11 here too. We've played with the FemBots years ago, and also played underwater robots with Site 3 at NURC in Chandler.

Welcome back!

Sounds like you're trying to feel old, so I'll let you know this is my 8th season in FRC, yet I've never been to a regional (only district events and championships).

I think this is my ninth season; it all kinds of blurs together at some point. Welcome back!

When I started, 111 was not a permanent number, we used Motorola radios and drill batteries and there were not any alliances. For the mentor parade, I just wait until everyone has walked past and get in the end of the line. This is season 21 for me, my wife and two other WildStang mentors.

Hey everyone this is my 12th season with Team 1708 out of McKeesport, Pa. I wouldn't another season for the world. We just aged well. Not such thing as old haha.

Re: Aging FRC Mentors/Coaches/Judges/Fans/Groupies

My first seasons were 2001 and 2002 as the founder and lead mentor of 827 (sadly now defunct) in Fremont, CA; I moved back from California and had a hiatus until 2005 (while raising the funds/interest to form 1551) and have been doing it ever since.

So...eleven with 1551, two with 827. That's either thirteen or fifteen years, depending on whether or not you count the years of establishing 1551 as "being involved," which I wouldn't.

Either way, it's been a minute or three. :D
