Measured Boulder OD

It can be dangerous to design game piece manipulators to the game piece dimensions called out in the game manual. These dimensions should only be considered nominal and rarely reflect real measurements.

So, let's change that. Last night we measured the OD of our KoP boulder around 4 different circumferences and got diameters of 9.7-9.9 inches.

I would like teams to measure their boulders around at least 3 unique circumferences and post the diameters here. I am going to attempt a survey that captures the average value.

Our boulder is sitting right around 9.75...

Thanks for the information so far!

Don't currently have access to our boulder but I understand your reason for this. The manual says 10 but it can vary. Of course they are made of foam so we can't really complain. This is going to have to be a factor that is considered.

Bump so more people see the survey. Getting more data than posts, which is good! Thank you all so far.

Team 558 got an average of 9.74 for our 3 boulders.

Again, thank you all for the measurements.

The biforcated data is quite interesting, even if our dataset isn't quite statistically significant.

We averaged 9.8" for five boulders.
