No, it's called *foghorn*. :D

(Cmon, as a scorekeeper I had to say it).

Isn't it also called "check all pockets for the missing pins"?

More like *toss broken pins in the "robot barf" box*

Refraining from further comment as I'm a key volunteer who isn't supposed to talk about on-field incidents. I hope I didn't say too much.

Are we running out of Triple Tortugas? As there are fewer and fewer first time event participants, I would think so but having attended NEFIRST's UMass Dartmouth event, I know that this is not the case.

We ALMOST had one in the Elims (and had the match ended mid match, I think we would have). Also, Paul Copioli tried to claim the a prize for a Triple Tortuga as Emcee at that same tournament, arguing that I saw it with my own eyes so no video was necessary. He had a point but I say, nay. The rules require a link, my personal retinas viewing the match not withstanding. And actually, even watching it live, I am a little skeptical -- I will need to review the tape to see if 88 just stopped driving or were they really tortugad (it was an amazing thing even if it wasn't a 3T).

Sooo.... there are still Triple Tortuga prizes to be awarded. Share the link and win a gift card.

My apologies to 3180, but this was one of the more humorous tortugas that I've seen this year... Not a triple, but funny all the same.

No video of the match, but I happened to be standing in queue with my phone out as I saw the tortuga unfolding. Didn't get much thanks to the bot demanding attention, but enjoy anyway.

I was the outerworks ref for this match and am a mentor for 88. My feeling is that this wasn't a 3T. 88 was desperately trying to push their disabled alliance mate through the defense and had no choice but to try to push forward in order to get the breach. They came within a fraction of an inch of doing so. This was all in the waning seconds of the match. Had there been more time in the match, I think 88 could have been able to get themselves back out of the defense. It was close, though.

I was going to post that one myself... I shouldn't laugh, but that was somewhat amusing to watch field-side.

So... ...is the contest over basically? No new entries for this week?

Still 2 $10 gift cards and a $50 gift card to be claimed (though a Double Triple Tortuga seems like it just isn't in the cards... ...but you never know).

There are still quite a few teams in the PNW district who are going to be at their first two competitions in week 4 and 5... so maybe then?

I suspect that triple tortugas' going forward will be of the "robot attempting to rescue their partner and ending up in a tent formation" type.

I'll state here now that I believe that all of your triple Tortuga cards will be awarded before the world championship but the double triple Tortuga card will not.

You mean like what happens here?

I was going to submit this match as a triple tortuga...but it's not clear why the third red robot just sits there moving back and forth in the neutral zone. It crosses the low bar once and then I think it might get stuck on a ball at some point.

LOL. Yeah, just like that.

I do not believe that that video is a triple Tortuga because the third robot is just 'spinning in place'. But that "tent formation" is hilarious.

I am going to agree with Daniel here. No Triple Tortuga Awarded.

Callin' 'em as I sees 'em...

Not a triple tortuga, but a very impressive tortuga at the Los Angeles Regional (also note the blue alliance team in the foreground missing all its bumpers as well)
