It's a vending machine ... that way you say "can you go to the vending machine and get me a POP." and if your hungry you add on "a bag of chips"

if you say "get me a Coke" the person will always get you a Coke .. but with pop you have a choice ...

The correct answer is pop and vending machines ..... but what about all the people who say "soft drink" like restaurant menus ...

Its Soda Machine for Drinks

For snacks its Vending Machine!

Although I just typicaly say "The Machine"

It's gotta be soda. I've lived in the Northeast, the Deep South, and California, and all I've ever heard anyone really use is Soda.

Soda machines for soda. Vending machines for snacks. And when you want a drink of water, you head over to the bubbler. :yikes:
