Red vs Blue

Sorry, I couldn't resist. So, which is it? RED or BLUE?

Jim Giacchi 06-08-2002 17:51

I'm gonna have to go with green. :D

Ian W. 06-08-2002 18:13

PURPLE!!!

oh wait, i can't choose both? :p

sanddrag 06-08-2002 18:24

I don't really care about the colors in general but I do like the look of the red lense on our robot.

I would just put a full red white and blue police strobe light bar on the robot so there would be no arguments over what color is better.

Rob Ribaudo 06-08-2002 18:26

Where is Brandon? He must bring a stop to all this crazy-ness, for he is the only one who can. Either that or everyone can just resist the urge to post this. Maybe a whole new forum on a new website could be made for these random threads. Just an idea that could help.

[edit]Also, I am not even going to dignify the question with an answer.[/edit]

sanddrag 06-08-2002 18:28

Don't eliminate these threads, they are somewhat fun. A separate forum would be good for off-topic discussion though. If your more into the strategy and mechanics types of discussion, you'll just have to wait until the season starts up again.

Jim Giacchi 06-08-2002 18:48

CHIT-CHAT is an off-topic spot for these kinds of conversations.

I give up.

My suggestion is to subscribe to every forum except Chit-Chat. Then click the 'Subscribed: New Posts' link. Then you'll get everything except for this nonsense. I'll probably get into the habit of just randomly closing/deleting these threads after they've run their course, to save resources.

If you'd like me to subscribe you to every forum except Chit-Chat, send me a private message.
I can do it quick, rather than you clicking 'subscribe' in every forum.

-Brandon

Sorry if I started anything too stupid. Brandon, you can close this if you'd like. If not, we'll just see where this goes...

Jon K. 06-08-2002 22:09

I chose the best color on earth GREEN

Jeff Rodriguez 06-08-2002 22:47

definately red. thats what we were most of the time and we won that way. how can you argue.
and the better battlebots usually come out of the red square:D

DUDE! Chill! :D Comon, FIRST isn't going on right now, so we all are bored stiff, and are acting a little weird. Just give it some time, like Jan 4, and it will all be back to "normal"....Well, how ever close to "normal" we come to...

RED!

D.J. Fluck 07-08-2002 12:13

Why not both?

Rob Ribaudo 07-08-2002 16:06

That last post of mine in this thread was just me going alittle crazy from all this. I know this is chit-chat, and anything really can be posed here, with-in reason of course. Next time I find a thread that is too crazy for me, I will just stay out of it. Sorry if I upset anyone.

GotGuts610 07-08-2002 18:17

Wow, I can't believe Brandon closed "The Person Above Me" thread, but left this one intact...go figure.

Anyway, blue is definitely the best color ever, no matter what the poll results say.

Jeff Waegelin 07-08-2002 19:02

Oh, I'm just waiting on this one. FYI, I voted for red, just 'cause red is good. No real explanation.

Actually, as long as they were the same color(i.e. not one red, one blue - what alliance are you really on?)...there's nothing in the rules that says you couldn't...after all, it would fall under non-functional decoration

DanLevin247 07-08-2002 23:38

I'm gonna have to say BLUE, because we have BLUE on our jerseys, we also have RED, but much less RED than BLUE.

Rob Colatutto 07-08-2002 23:41

heh, i am gonna have to say blue as well, cause well, blue is simply the best color and our robot looked awesome with blue

Mark Hamilton 13-08-2002 02:56

Red looks better on our bot. We usually use a blue theme for our bot (blue is one of our school's colors and motorola's color) so the red sticks out better.

Those lights draw more then enough power already, and you want two???

You're correct in saying that it doesn't say you couldn't but just the same the rules don't specify that you can. Revolving lights are not on the additional hardware list and you are not allowed to use parts from previous years so I would have to say you can't.

you can always call first and check with them. they tend to say yes to suff that dosen't really interfere with the play of the game like another light(unless it blocks vision in some way)

As I mentioned, it would be considered a non-functional decoration, which means it would not fall under materials limitations as given in the manual.
