WCP Pneumatic Wheels

1 Attachment(s)
Is anyone planning on using these? I'm just wondering how these wheels compare to the 8" AM wheels.

Since there is a thread about this, we've gotten numerous emails about availability.

General note, any new orders since 1/14 will have a one week lag time. Customers before that will be getting hubs this week. Our goal is to get all customers taken care of by this weekend.

Please email support@wcproducts.net for any further specific order questions.

Thanks!

What are the weight of these?

We built a fully functional prototype with these wheels this past weekend and have been pleased with the results.

Having a COTS live axel pneumatic wheel is a huge time saver for us! Thanks WCP!

To answer the weight question, we weighed a diamond tread wheel (with hub) and got right around a pound. I can get a more exact number tonight.

it would be major awesome if you could post some videos of it in action.

You could watch 1114 in 2012 or 2010. It's the same tire.

We are going with an 8wd with the 6" diamond tread tires/tubes from WCP, but we are using the 6" pneumatic tire plastic hubs from AndyMark: http://www.andymark.com/product-p/am-2469.htm

In addition to the weight, I'm curious about the actual measured diameter of the wheel at the crown of a nominally inflated tire. Is that something you can measure and publish here?

We haven't received ours yet, and are designing around a 6 inch diameter. However our clearances between wheels are pretty tight and It'd be nice to know the real life diameter.

2010 only. In 2012 we used the 8" AM wheel.

Andy,

Absolutely. I will take dimensions today and post. I assume you will want crown diameter and wheel width at various psi (I'm thinking 0-50 psi in 10 psi intervals?)

I will also take an accurate weight today.

Any other requests regarding this wheel?

Sorry, can't post any video or pictures of our test base. But I'll make a base-less claim (pun intended!) and say we're killing the defenses this year, we are very happy with the results!

Mike, thanks for digging into the details on these wheels for those of us still waiting to get our set. Could you along with the diameters at each of those pressures additionally measure the width of the tire? Thanks!

Re: WCP Pneumatic Wheels

The width under load would be awesome. Contact patch measurements, etc.

Pretty much any measurement you could throw at us wouldn't go to waste.

RC,

Can you comment if these wheels are rated for Highway use?

Kind Regards,

Kind Regards,

They are not rated for highway use.

That being said, we did shoot frisbees with them at 6krpm, which is 107 mph, so they'll totally be fine if you're not breaking the speed limit ;)
