Using the Xbox One controller ?
The driver station support inputs from Xbox One controllers ? we think about getting new controllers and there is option we can get those.

Re: Using the Xbox One controller ?
I have not personally tested it, and I'm not aware of a test report from a beta team. XInput is the API reading the joystick, so I expect it to work. The joystick needs to communicate to the PC using USB, no wifi or other wireless comms.
If you have testing results, please post them. Greg McKaskle |
Re: Using the Xbox One controller ?
I use the Xbox One controller daily when coding in labview, my mentors personally like the Logitech F310 more because of the placement of the joysticks personally I love the controller and might even use it in competition, we will see. So far no input issues from the controller (Unless you count broken code hahaha) so if you like the controller I would say go all out and use it! Best of luck!!

Re: Using the Xbox One controller ?
Yes it works just fine both the 360 and xbox one controllers, we're using one of each ourselves. The original oem ones you just plug in and run windows update to find the driver, the after market ones you may have an issue getting the driver installed since the windows update won't recognize them so you will have to find an older installer for the driver but then that will work.
if you're using labview I can share a vi that makes them MUCH easier to use too. |

Re: Using the Xbox One controller ?
My team uses Xbox one controllers. Be sure to get the Xbox one micro USB cable that goes from the remote to the computer because my Samsung cable didn't work with the remote so I had to buy the special Xbox labeled one.

Re: Using the Xbox One controller ?
We tried the Xbox One controller and they worked.
But we use these: http://www.gamestop.com/xbox-360/acc...ntroller/43229 |
Re: Using the Xbox One controller ?
We have been having trouble with our Xbox 1 controller. Alone it seems to be OK, but we have a second controller with more buttons. When both are plugged in, the DS often crashes. We switched Xbox1 controllers and it worked better. We thought it was bad firmware in the first one, but then the second one started behaving the same way. We borrowed an Xbox360 controller for the rest of the competition.
We were at WPI and showed it to Brad Miller, the WPILib guy. He was talking to the DS maintainer so at least they know about the issue. |
Re: Using the Xbox One controller ?
We use xbox one controllers. They work great! We use 2 and both run just fine. Ours are the micro usb connection ones. The only problem we had was that our DS computer was not running Windows 10. Windows 10 contains the driver for the controllers automatically and detects them. If a you are running an older version of windows you have to download the driver from somewhere else.
