Pierogies

Who here likes pierogies

MBiddy 08-08-2002 22:56

I've never had them, but I pity da fool who don't like Mrs. T's pierogies, sucka!

Jon K. 08-08-2002 22:58

Mrs T's are ok but if you compare Mrs. T's to homeade pierogie it is like comparing a cheap cut of meat to a fillet mingon(?)

Brandon Martus 08-08-2002 23:02

theys good.

we like da shish-ka-bob cause the beef havf good flaavarrrrrr....
bonus points to anybody who can name where that quotes from.

DanLevin247 08-08-2002 23:14

They are good, but need to be crunchy ( sorta ) around the outside

Dan 550 08-08-2002 23:35

Pierogies are best boiled then fried twice and served with a sour cream and chives dip and a cheddar sauce. Bowling alleys have the best pierogies anywhere, but never eat with your ball hand.

DanLevin247 08-08-2002 23:50

"never eat with your ball hand"

that sounded wrong.....very wrong

Missing option:

"What the hell are pierogies?"

I'm not sure but it's not English, German, French, Spanish, or one of 100s of other languages I checked.

SlamminSammy 09-08-2002 01:24

Ok, I've found them. They're "crescent-shaped, tender dumplings filled with a variety of fillings" or, in English instead of Polish, Ravioli. Also known as kreplach.

DanL 09-08-2002 02:09

Coming from a polish family, perogi's rock. I've never exactly had "crusty" ones that were mentioned, but my grandma makes these delicious ones filled with apples. Just pour some sugar on them and add yogurt, and they're one of my favorite foods. =)

Go Poland, and our... er... Go Poland!

I love perogis.. and yea, they're polish. yum.... I'm personally one for baked perogis.. you get a nice kinda crunchy ish shell and then the inside is all warm and yummy. So good. Hehe.. they sell them in bags frozen at the store by my house. So great, they take like 15 min. Awesome lazy dinner. oh and when you grate cheese and put it on top.. oh yum, way awesome!

I love pierogies (as well as almost any kind of food), but I have only Mrs. T's pierogies. I will have to ask my Mom if we can make them one day. I am surprised that this is something my family never made them before. Maybe if is something we never made because we never saw it get made on the Food Network. :D

Katie Reynolds 09-08-2002 15:49

/me likes perogies!

Mmmm... I love perogies! I've only had them boiled with garlic salt and butter though... usually filled with mashed potatoes and cheese/onion/bacon - something like that! Those apple filled ones sound good though! :D
