Re: New York City Regional

Like others have said, congratulations to 3646 on their amazing Chairman's win, as well as to a killer winning alliance of 5030, 694 (congrats on EI as well), and 5016! Lastly, a job well done to the RAS winners at 5891...can't wait to see all of guys in St. Louis!
Thank you to all 66 teams for making this year's New York City Regional one of the best yet, and here's to an exciting rest of the season from team 5123!

EDIT: Shoutout to 2869 for not only a Dean's List finalist but the regional WFFA as well!

I would just like to thank everyone who attended for making this year's NYC regional the most fun I've ever attended in my four years as a student. Shout out to teams 1796 and 806 for being such great alliance members and to all the teams who offered to help us out(271 coming in clutch with a bearing).

Did students who came to watch the event bring bearings with them? I remember seeing a few members of 271, presumably scouting teams going to FLR and SBPLI, as well as get ideas first hand for the game.

One of our chains came off in the qualifications match we lost and 271's mentors and students came to help out. We were pretty sure we had a spare but one of the students pulled several bearings out of his pocket which we were able to use.

Congrats to 5030, 694, and 5016 on their regional win and to 3646 on your Chairman's Award. The view from behind the scoring table as the entire venue gave you a wholly deserved and resounding standing ovation was nothing short of incredible.

I got to talk to 3646 a bit, seeing as they were the pit across from us. They definitely earned the chairman's award. They did go above and beyond to show they are a team to be emulated. I never got to see if they got their climber up and running, does anyone know how it turned out? I remember helping them out with some modifications. It was a little challenging with the language barrier but, we helped as much as we could. One of our students was able to translate a bit. I wish them luck on their chairmans presentation at champs. It would be well deserved if they won it.

Haha, yes we were just scouting and helping a few teams out. One of our students discovered on the train that he had walked out of the shop with a few new bearings in his pocket, which of course we joked about needing to find a use for them, and well we did!

Congratulations to all the teams, it was great getting to see our friends and make some new ones too!

With the whole bearing thing I know we gave at least one bearing to 271 had no idea where it was going though hahaha.

Congrats to our amazing alliance partner, Team 5891 for getting the highest Rookie award and thanks to our other partner,Team 334. Together, we formed one of the strongest alliance at NYC Regional, with the highest match score in the competition!
Congratulations to all the teams and it was really nice to see my old friends!

I'm beyond ecstatic for Team 5891! Elegant design and so well put together as a team overall. A most deserving RAS award!

And a note of the power of intention: I helped their java programmers setup their simple robot project. And the name we gave the project in eclipse weeks ago on a lark????

We should have almost every match recorded from the stands. A few were probably missed here or there. Going to upload them soon hopefully. Also 1796 ran the stream, hopefully they have some of it archived.

Thanks, Yea I know a few elims may have gotten missed when we were reviewing them.

It was great to work with you guys, as well as gain insight from your team about the whole china project. It helped give us ideas for trying to start more teams in our area.

We wish you the best of luck at South Florida, well definitely be rooting for you guys. Well see you in St. Louis.
