AndyMark 3CIM4U with Rhino Track Output Shaft Issues

Hey all,

As we were putting together the Rhino Track, it became obvious that there is a problem with the output shaft on the 3CIM4U being too short. We double checked with CAD to make sure everything was assembled correctly and short of removing the thinner of the two plates on the 3CIM4U, it doesn't seem there is much we can do.

Is anyone else using the combination of these two parts and having the same problem? Would appreciate some help. Thanks in advance.

we are not using this combo, but the fix is relatively simple if you have a lathe. Buy some 4140 1/2" hex stock and turn a new output shaft. If you dont have one, try talking to teams around you. This is a pretty quick job and it should not be hard to convince them to make it. If you cant find anyone local, I would be happy to make you longer output shafts if you purchase the material.

We realized this is what we would have to do, it's just a little peculiar that we have to do it considering that the Rhino Track page specifically states that the 3CIM4U is compatible with it. I was hoping we were doing something wrong.

Did you order it with a long output shaft?

The 3CIM4U came with the long output shaft.

Oh and you need to turn your axle bolts around. The bolt head is suppose to be on the out side plate

Also on that output shaft either make a spacer or what we did another 1/2" hex collar to press against the outer plate flange bearing. The flange bearing is "press fit " but will back out of the outer plate at least one of ours did.

I'm not sure it's a problem. The drive sprocket for the tracks are right next to the transmission, and the output shaft is supported at both ends by a bearing.

We used to use unsupported transmission shafts driving sprockets for years.
