RS775 with Encoder

Are these motors legal (PG27 Planetary Gearbox with RS775 Motor and Encoder (am-2923)) - or do we need to add encoders after the fact. And if so, can someone explain why?

Re: RS775 with Encoder

Yes, the motor itself is an AM-2194, which is legal.

Re: RS775 with Encoder

Thanks for the clarification, so as long as the base motor is legal, we can order different assemblies of it including encoders, gears etc...

Thanks

For the record:

It is virtually identical to an am-2194, but it is not an am-2194 motor. The am-2194 has a short back-shaft which does not interface with an encoder

It is an am-2766, which is also a 2016 FRC-legal motor. It's an am-2194 with a longer backshaft.
