Cutest Robot Ever

Who else agrees?

Ashley Weed 12-08-2002 13:39

me! me! me! :)

Trashed20 12-08-2002 13:49

thats pretty cute but not a cute or funny as kogepan (burnt bread in japanese)

oh yeah, he isn't a robot either, he is bread, that burned, and he hates the baker who put him on the top rack, and goes to sleep when he is angry, and he is depressed.

Hmm, that robot IS cute, but (and keep in mind this is most likely a biased decision), I think team 810's robot this year was just a tad bit cuter.

Bow down, for he is Robby...

Rob Ribaudo 12-08-2002 15:11

First thing I would like to say is, interesting picture of our team's robot Dan. :(
That is a cute robot Melancholy. But what is it doing by that Coke? If it wants to hurt the Coke then I don't think it is cute anymore. :p Where did you find that picture?

http://www.lynxmotion.com

I so want to buy one of the kits there, but they're quite costly.

Has anyone ever purchased a good, yet cheap, robot kit? I'm trying to find one. I think I may ask for Lego Mindstorms - Robotics Invention System 2.0 for Christmas.

Don 12-08-2002 15:32

If you want some neat little robot stuff. Go to that lynxmotion site and buy a Next step kit and a bs2 chip. It'll cost you about a hundred dollars. Then just buy whatever servos, motors, h-bridges, buttons, etc.... that you need. It'll probably be cheaper than one of their kits.

The various Boe Bot kits from Parallax are good (but then, I do get them for free from NASA :p). Also, the edu Robot kit which will now be included in the team kit, which we will get before January, should be a good kit to play with. Alex Forest from our team (and anyone else who went to WPI) have already used them, and can provide more information than I. Oh, and I've never used a Lego Mindstorm kit before ... I need to do something about that :)

I have the Lego Mindstorm kit. I made some fun little robots with it. Alot can be done with it, exspecialy since you use legos. :D Too bad I do not have an imagination anymore and I can't think of anything to make with it.

/me likes dan's bot

MBiddy 12-08-2002 16:04

What about GIR? You can't forget GIR!

Mbusters01 12-08-2002 16:47

Dan, so thats what you and Ian have been upto the whole summer. You guys were *tweeking* our robot. Well, i only have one thing to say- Why wasn't I invited?

DanL 12-08-2002 17:29

it was a top-secret project... we were converting it into a gargantuan teddy bear prototype, as you can clearly see above. Once that model enters mass-production, we shall use it to conquer the world. After all, if you just saw a harmless-looking but ever-so-cute-and-cuddly teddy bear, how could you not resist bringing it into your home?

Mbusters01 12-08-2002 17:38

I should have known that you guys would go throught with your maniacal plan to take over the world. But I never would have thought it would be so good. But, our initial robot did cost a lot of money to build, so where will you guys get the monet to mass produce those cuddly robots?

P.S.- I also thought Max was in this plan, what did you guys do to him? ;)

DanLevin247 12-08-2002 19:04

What about the microsoft word robot??

Sony's Abio is cool, so is that Japanese robot ( I think honda made it ) is cute.

Melancholy 12-08-2002 21:02

well, post some pictures of 'em! after a few days and a bunch of nominations, i'll make a new thread and hold a vote

***No FIRST Robots allowed! Everyone will just vote for their own...***

Rob Ribaudo 12-08-2002 21:24

Does that mean that team 810's teddy bear/ robot (posted by SuperDanman) can not be in the voting? It is not exactly the robot.

Melancholy 12-08-2002 21:27

the Teddy Bear is in.

:D

Trashed20 12-08-2002 21:38
