[FTC]: 2 NXT light sensors with legacy module and Android Studio

OK, I've posted this on the FTC Forum, but haven't found any workable solutions yet, so I'm casting a wider net.
Any clues on getting Android Studio to work with querying 2 light sensors in parallel? [Note, I'm only an ME, so please type slowly ;) ]
