Did you know...

Did you know that it's impossible to lick your own elbow?:D

Matt Attallah 16-08-2002 21:37

It's also impossible to touch your right hand to your right elbow!:D ;) :p

evulish 17-08-2002 00:21

Is this known from personal experience? Because I can see myself trying this. (I actually already have...just to make sure you weren't lying) You're right :(

which part the inner or outer elbow cause if it is both i have proven you wrong by liking the inner part of my elbow

Katie Reynolds 17-08-2002 02:07

/me cuts off her arm... licks the outer part of her elbow... sews her arm back on...

I win! :D

Did you also know that your foot and forearm are the same size? And (my brother found) that your pinky finger is the same size as your ear!

This whole physically inmpossible to lick your elbow stuff makes me laugh :) I only knwo one person who can do it but yeh my little sister can lick her elbow, I even have a picture to prove it!

Melissa Nute 17-08-2002 14:26

Haha that pic is great

DanL 17-08-2002 14:33

Did you guys ALSO know...

That if you have your fingers spread out and you middle finger bent down so that both finger joints are touching the ground - er, just look at the picture - you can't raise your ring finger nomatter how hard you try?

(taking that picture was so awkward... I had to hold the cam in one hand, keep the other hand in that position, and I had to angle my body so that I clicked the mouse button with one of my toes, so you better enjoy it!)

Melissa Nute 17-08-2002 14:58

Dan - maybe you can't do that....but i can...well with my pinkie also moving up to...

Adam Y. 17-08-2002 15:15

Ooo yeah. I'm probably the only person around long island that can bend both his wrists all the way down so that they touch my forearm. Heh I wouldn't even have known about it if it wasn't for me taking Jui-Jitsu. There are a whole set of techniques use your enemies wrists and bend them forward. I've also got no nerve endings in five differnt places(of course if you don't take Jui-Jitsu you probably wouldn't know what I'm talking about). It's quite annoying for other people when they work with me sometimes because of it.:)

Yeah my wrists and hands are hyper-mobile (along with being arthritic) and that lets me bend my fingers at a 90 degree angle towards my wrists. I can also bend my thumb back to touch my forearm ;) Yeah, I'm strange. Oh, and Dan, you're right. Doing that, I can't move my ring finger at all! I can move my pinky but that's it. Hmm..

- Katie

MBiddy 17-08-2002 16:26

I have a variant of the ring finger thing. You can't touch just any 1 finger to your palm if all the others are straight (although you can BARELY do it with the ring finger)! I don't get it! And if my ring finger is straight, I can hardly bend my pinkey finger at all. Why is that?

FotoPlasma 17-08-2002 17:03

I can rotate my hand around, at my wrist, more than 360 degrees.

I can also dislocate both shoulders, and create a rather disgusting (to other people) void of bone.

Fun fun fun...

Jon K. 17-08-2002 19:04

i can dislocate my left shoulder and whenever i do it it freaks people out it is so funny because they think it hurts along with the meditation leg twisty thingy where both feet touch the top part of you legs versious the bottom part like sitting indian style

DaBruteForceGuy 17-08-2002 19:28

"DO YOUR EARS HANG LOW, DO U WABBLE TOO AND FROW. CAN U TIE THEM IN A KNOT CAN U TIE THEM IN A BOW....." :D

Mbusters01 17-08-2002 19:30

yeah i can also twist my legs that way, but i dont know why people think it hurts
Dan- i can move my right ring finger a few millimeters above the ground while holding my middle finger in that position.

Mike Schroeder 17-08-2002 19:33

Hey Tjrage,

I thought I was the blonde , crazy, sycotic, person on the team and just when I thought I couldn't get any more confused you go and pull this I get a head ache I thank you NOW I NEED ASPERIN

(he yells to his mother in great pain)

Ashley Weed 17-08-2002 20:29

Hmm, thought I must share.....
Most people would never know, as how most people would never know other things wrong with me either, but it is noticeable when I have a swimsuit on with an open back. When I was born I did not have all of my bones, my bottom vertebrae on the one side (the larger one that is sometimes nicknamed DogEar), was not there only a small piece of cartelage (sp?). Then when I was in seventh grade, I had a track accident on a cement track when running the hurdles. I laid myself out, and could not walk for several days. It is believed that at that time I shattered one of my other vertebrae. Yup, I am missing two bones now.

mtaman02 17-08-2002 23:12

Hey

Anyone willing to move there body into weird shapes and sizes deserves an award in my book. Anyone of you decided to join Guiness World Records.

Heehee, forgot about that one - I can do that too :) It doesn't hurt at all... actually it feels better when the shoulders are out of their sockets...

Fun fun fun...

I tore the ligaments in my thumb in june and now I can rotate my thumb just about 360 in either direction

jon 18-08-2002 17:30

I can lick my elbow just fine. I can also bend my fingers all the way back. I do other things too. I'm very talented.

Stephanie 18-08-2002 23:32

my sister can also rotate her hand 360 degrees. she places her fingertips on the table, and twists the rest of her lower arm around, then rests her palm on the table again. it looks kinda gross...

I usually place my right hand palm down on a table, reach around it with my left hand, and hook the index finger of my right hand, then pull around. The best part is lifting it off the table and swinging it back into place, being all quick-like...

Erin Rapacki 19-08-2002 10:39

Aren't your arms almost the same length as your leggs?

Hmm... I dunno. I do know that your handspan (from fingertip to fingertip across your chest) is the same as your height! :D

- Katie

Jon K. 19-08-2002 17:48

not exactly the same if your arms are longer it means you are about to grow and they arent always the same anyways so there is usually a little variation

Fun fun fun...

Umm rotating your wrist 360 degrees is physically impossible in any direction(all right maybee in one direction but your arm would get in your way). Unless you dislocate it. Hmmm... I really can't think of how you can do it. Bah.. me and my mom think I actually inherited an ability to not feel pain correctly. It's quite odd though because its happened lots of times within my mothers side of her family.

That isnt completely true,

my cousin was on some MTV talent show in 1996 or 97 for his talent of rotating his hand 1 and a half times around from his wrist

it has something to do with joints

Adam Y. 20-08-2002 16:10

Your right I was thinking of the two directions in which the arm would get in the way. Of course since Im not a doctor I really can't think of how a person could have that odd of wrists??? I know there are people that can hyperextend parts of their bodies maybe thats just another part.
