Re: FRC 2977 Shooter Prototype
Any plans on how to get and control " the right motor speed"?
It does seem to be fairly consistent. |

Re: FRC 2977 Shooter Prototype
We plan on adjusting the where the motors are placed and then finding a consistent "go to" spot near the tower so we can always make the shot. We may also be using sensors to find this "go to" spot

Re: FRC 2977 Shooter Prototype
So, my team went for a motorized kick in 2014, and really regretted it.
Here's our reveal video from that year. It's a different game, and the game piece is much lighter this year, so you might not have the same problems, but here are some points that we had problems with that you might want to consider:
So that's some stuff that we had trouble with in 2014, most of it, I think, applies this year as well so try and see if you can avoid those problems somehow. Good luck! -Leav |
Re: FRC 2977 Shooter Prototype
And just as a note, from experience: If you always shoot from the same place, and it's NOT a safe zone, expect to not be able to get there easily. Somebody will be more than happy to park there and keep you from getting to that spot, or hit you every time you look like you're heading there.

Re: FRC 2977 Shooter Prototype
We will hopefully be able to shoot at more than one high goal in the end, but we have a lot more planned out and in development.
I think that rhino tracks should be able to help us hold our ground against most pushing (at least from the side), but we definitely have to make sure that the ball is safely secured so it doesn't fall out. |
