Tell us a little about yourself...

Well, it's that time again. It's time for everybody to get to know everyone else a little better. What better way than to post a little something about yourself on ChiefDelphi Forums?

I'll start.

I'm Dan Richards, a "constructor" on Team 550 from Warren County in Northwest New Jersey. I'm an ASE-certified Auto Mechanic in a schooling and apprenticeship program, and I work in a hardware store called Home Towne Hardware (...and a whole lot more!). My life goal at this time is to enter the world of automotive engineering.

Now it's your turn!

I'm on AIM quite a bit. my sn is SeanR330

Stephanie 21-08-2002 00:47

I will be a junior at Pioneer High School in San Jose, CA. I spend alot of time on AIM, which tends to annoy my parents, so if you want to chat, I'm Steppie86 :)

Justin 188 21-08-2002 02:36

I'm Justin Chow, a senior high school student going into my final year at Woburn Collegiate. I really like robotics, but I like graphics design even more :)

I'm a student on what used to be 258. I am quite a computer enthusiast, and am usually the acting programmer for the team, though I have been known to dabble in various other areas.

I spend a lot of time in Tigerbolt, too, under the name Jim258 (or some odd variation thereof). You can AIM me at FotoPlasma or PotatoPlasma, depending on the computer I'm currently using.

Rob Ribaudo 21-08-2002 07:33

I am Robert Ribaudo, a scouter, member of the computer group, and someone who does small jobs on team 810. This year will be my second year in FIRST in the second year of team 810.
I do not go on Tigerbolt very much, but if I am on it, I will have the screen name name Rob810.
I am also in the Smithtown Key Club (site I made). In this club we help out to raise money for charity and do what we can to help out around our home, school, and community.
I have AIM on all the time with the screen name puzz3dmaster. If I am not there, I will most likly have an away message on. IM me if you want to talk about anything. Please first tell me that your from CD when you first IM me.

D.J. Fluck 21-08-2002 10:23

Im D.J. Fluck, a senior at Kokomo High School and a 4th year member of my team. Outside of FIRST, I play soccer on the high school team and I play rec-league hockey. I have a job at the wonderful store called Sears. Yes, I sell shoes on commission. It usally sucks, but once in awhile I come out with a paycheck at roughly $10+ p/hr. My life is boring and I can't wait to get out of Kokomo.

Erin Rapacki 21-08-2002 10:31

My name is Erin Rapacki (not too surprising, huh?). I was on Buzz Robotics the past two years and I had the time of my life. I'm now an incoming freshman at Northeastern University and I intend on being on their team as a mentor. I do not know what my exact role in FIRST Robotics is, as of right now I'm not impressively computer savvy or technical... but I've been told that I have a lot of leadership potential, I know how to get things done, and my crazy enthusiasm for robotics tends to stick onto others. I'm also into biking, hiking, and boating. I'm joining the Crew team at NEU this fall. My major is mechanical engineering so I'm probably joining SWE and ASME as well. I'll be online all the time starting Sept 14th, so talk to me. My screen name is anetta284.

Ricky Q. 21-08-2002 10:35

Next year I hope to focus mainly on elec, and hopefully drive or coach.

Outside of FIRST I work at Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital (I'm a doctor :-p) and just do alot of misc things. If you wanna talk just IM me:

I am also a huge movie freak

Katie Reynolds 21-08-2002 14:59

As you can see, I'm Katie Reynolds. I will be a junior this year at Appleton East High School (one of the three high schools that make up the NEW Apple Corps). I will also be a student in the new Tesla Engineering Charter School at East. This will be my third year on team 93. During the season, I'm on the "controls" sub-system of our team. The sub-system is made up of about 4 people who build the controls, do the electrical stuff, wiring, programming and pneumatics on the robot! In the off-season (if you could call it that) I'm usually busy setting up team activities, presentations and get-togethers... kind of the off-season PR person. I work at a Copps - a grocery store near my house for only $6.25/hour. It's no fun. If you're looking for a job, don't work at a grocery store! ;) I'm working on learning to play guitar - both bass and electric. I played the cello for 7 years. I was in my high school orchestra and for the Fox Valley Youth Symphony (orchestra made up of people from about 12 cities in the area) up through this past year. I had to drop orchestra to make room for my engineering classes and since I dropped orchestra the teacher of that class wouldn't sign for me to be in the symphony. Oh well - more time for FIRST! If you wanna chat...

Melissa Nute 21-08-2002 16:02

I am Melissa Wheeler, a junior at Stanton College Preparatory School in Jacksonville, FL. I'm also in my 3rd year on team 86 - Team Resistance. I'm a mechanical person on my team and also one of the biggest spirit people on my team (Ohm my!) Other than that I volunteer at a local museum, and am really too active in my latin club at school. I also take kickboxing and am starting up dance again. I wanna learn how to play the guitar...hopefully soon.
