The "Keep Out" signs weren't because the rack was dangerous. They weren't to keep the programmers from nesting in there.

They were there because of the large Spiders inside.

Danger keep out of library. During the build season you don't have time to read.

Re: CD's Unofficial Caption Contest #604

Danger: Gamma radiation. We're trying a new experiment. Our school doesn't have the money for an actual lab, so we're using the library instead. And unfortunately there are no physicists on the robotics team. But a wood cage is sufficient protection against gamma rays, right?

(A note from the survivors): In a tragic incident, the our school lost its entire robotics team. If only they had utilized this room for its actual purpose.

One day the rack appeared, but the librarians weren't concerned. 2 years ago several giant tetrahedrons had occupied the area.
The librarians became concerned when they noticed that every morning the rack would move and rotate just a little bit, slowly making its way from one side of the library to the other.

And then as suddenly as the rack appeared, it vanished.

The rotating bookshelf was condemned by the safety officer, but not before it inspired a member of the GDC.

Now I've seen everything. They build a carousel for birds

Re: CD's Unofficial Caption Contest #604

OK, we finally finished building this thing. Now where's the tubes? Anyone seen the tubes? How can we practice with the robot without tubes?

Having suffered as a small team for many years, they finally installed a Freshman trap as a recruiting tool. Just like Roger Rabbit being unable to resist 'shave-and-a-haircut', the Keep Out sign was like a flame to a moth.

Re: CD's Unofficial Caption Contest #604

"Why is this thing in the library?"
"I thought maybe we can use it for some shooting practice."
"In the library?!"
"Yeah. I mean, we did put a 'Keep Out' sign on it. It'll be fine."

At least we only have to deal with book worms instead of termites...

They wanted to decorate it with LEDs, but that would have gotten in the way of the whole 'no one will notice it' theory that allowed them to leave it there in the first place.
