Game Animation Impossible Defense Combination
I never noticed it until today when I was re-watching the animation during lunch, but the Game Animation kinda breaks all the rules regarding defense usage.
The Red Alliance defenses employ both a Portcullis and a Cheval de Frise (both Category A defenses), a Rock Wall and a Rough Terrain (both Category D defenses), and no Category B or C defenses. Meanwhile, Blue Alliance uses both a Moat and Ramparts (both Category B) but no defenses from Category D. Just one more example of why you never use the game animation as fact and always use the rules first and foremost. Can we play that game? Portcullis and Drawbridge always!!! |

It's unusual that they messed that up! They're usually so careful in those videos to follow all the robot rules (e.g. bumpers and signal lights), and they usually get the game dynamics spot on. The game reveal video lies.

Maybe they just wanted to show all the possible obstacles?

Re: Game Animation Impossible Defense Combination
How DARE they make an easy-to-understand, slick-looking video that shows the gist of the game!?

Re: Game Animation Impossible Defense Combination
After you do a few District events, you get bored with the videos in the opening ceremonies. So you try to find all the rule violations in the game animation.
