Game Manual Test for FIRST Stronghold

Here is a Game manual Test that I will start giving to our team tomorrow night:
Game Manual Test for FIRST Stronghold

It has three sections this year:
The Game, Drive Team, & Robot design.

It is an MS Word .docx that you can download and edit to your liking, as well as a .pdf.
I did not number the questions or alphabetize the answers, so your editing would be easier.
Be careful if you move the Tables at the start of the test.
I made the Tables in the later part .jpegs as too much voodoo was occurring.

Many thanks to the Milken Knights for their online quiz, Milken Knights Test it was a great warmup for our team. I appreciate that you didn't tell the contestants which ones they got wrong, it makes people peruse the Game Manual.

Props to Team Neutrino for the test that they posted last week, Team Neutrino Test with an answer key. Very well-written.

I do not have an answer key yet, better to make your own in the end.

If you notice any mistakes or appreciate the two attempts at humor, let me know.

Not sure if the two attempts at humor were repeated questions... but you did have a couple of those in the PDF.

Why do you have a picture of the field with boulders on it while having questions about boulders?

Those were not the two attempts at humor, you'll have to keep looking.
Let me know which ones were repeated.
Some questions are repeated in different sections of the test.
I am giving parts of the test at different times.

I debated that one.
The question about the boulders on the midline is right below a field image that only shows 5, so I put 5 as a choice to see if anyone would pick it.

I suppose I could have covered the boulders in the subsequent image, but didn't feel that that boulder question was as important as having the students label the parts of the play field.

I view the test as a tool to familiarize the team with the game manual.

You're welcome to edit the test to suit your preferences.

Touching an opponents' robot in their Secret Passage (x2 on the second page of the Game portion, with one question about entering said area of the field with a boulder in between). BTW, great question to be asking, particularly of your driveteam.

Thank you. As many times as I review the test, I always miss something.

To everyone who has downloaded the test as a Word doc, you can fix this, but watch out for the formatting on subsequent pages when you delete any content.

I am working on an answer key today.

An awesomely comprehensive test... I suspect we will be using all or part of this as part of our drive team test. Thanks for posting it!

Please PM me if you would like a copy.

Thanks Navid.

Thusly, there is now a fresh Rev.1
I re-uploaded it, so the latest test version should be pretty good.

PM me for the Answer Key.

What I appreciate here is asking for strategic decision answers - playing through a scenario. That develops great strategic thinking - way more than just the black and white rules. Thanks!

Updated the Game Manual Test to reflect the changes from Team Update 10.

Game Manual Test rev. 2

Player Station Light Strings are gone, instead, the Tower Strength Lights indicate when the field is safe to enter and the match is in its final 20 seconds.

Gave this out this weekend almost as a review guide of what to go look up in the rules if they didn't already know it. Thanks!
