Team #383 shooter is shooting!

Single shot video

It's definitely in early development, but it works great! Just need to build a robot around it now hehe.

Awesome!

Can you tell us some details about your shooter?

What motor controllers are you using? CAN Talon SRXes in speed mode?
If you are using PID, what kind of encoders are you using?
Are you using feedback on both sides, or just reading the speed of one side?

Also, what is your strategy for where your robot is going to shoot from? Are you going to be able to shoot from the batter? How about from a location touching the outer works? How are you planning on lining up for the shot?

Yep, we're using CAN Talon SRXes for the shooter.

There's no PID yet. We might do it if there's time later, but since we can only shoot a ball at a time, losing speed between shots shouldn't be too much of an issue.

Our shooter will be able to aim up and down, so there's not much of a placement requirement for our robot. We should be able to shoot from almost anywhere, depending on the driver's skill to aim hehe. We'll try to do some automation on that part, maybe a camera (though we never manage to make that work) or some fancy stuff with an accelerometer/gyro to make life easier for the Drive Team. If nothing works, we'll probably just try to use the lines on the floor or something like that.
