Gauge Question

Can we use 14 gauge wire from the motor controller to the PDP with a 40 amp breaker? I'm asking this because the motors that we are running (from the Kit of Parts chasis) have 14 gauge wire, so I don't see any reason not to use 14 gauge to the PDP.:)

R49 will answer your question. It also explains why the 14ga wire is allowed on the CIM.

Also you don't WANT to use 14 gauge on a CIM attached to any system you care about. Thinner wire is higher resistance which means you'll be spending more of your battery charge warming up the wire and less doing something useful.
