roboRIO CAN Wiedmuller failure
The roboRIO was finally connected up to the bot today and after the first code deploy test I noticed the PDP was flashing red lights. Once I realized the CAN wires weren't connected I knew why. Then I looked at the Wiedmuller connector on the roboRIO and saw that one of the spring-loaded buttons is depressed fully. You can pull it out manually but it feels like there is no spring at all in it. I cannot insert a wire in either (had to try).
Has anyone else experienced a failed Wiedmuller connector on any of the newer control system pieces like this? This is the same roboRIO as the team used last year and I don't remember there being a problem. This is the same roboRIO that is experiencing motor controllers firing randomly when plugged into PWM 0 & 1, (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=134694) so not really happy with it to begin with. Anyone have experience with the warranty process for these? Planning on contacting NI on Monday to chat. |
Re: roboRIO CAN Wiedmuller failure
We have had this happen to two of our PCM's. CTRE will repair it for a $25 charge if we ship it back. You will have to contact NI to find out what they can do for you.
