In the 2000 FIRST season the champions used a robot which hung from the center rail and picked balls from their opponents basket. I think there was a photo crew at last years finals shooting crowd shots (so I was told)for a movie about this team. That is the only movie I am aware of about FIRST.

In 2000 we had that robot (Cradle Robber- thanks for remembering) but nobody has approached us or even mentioned anything about a movie role. Our Foothills partners have a team story suitable for Disney. They really should talk to them.

Wayne,
If you only knew how many times Mike Rush and I replayed our semifinal match with you folks. I want to give you fair warning. Don't try to use the same robot again. We know how to beat you (now that it is too late). That was one truly great robot. KL |
haven't seen lilo and stitch yet, but i doubt it's as good as mulan

I don't particularly like Disney, but I can't say I hate every movie from them... At least Fantasia (maybe not the latest one so much, but the various releases previous to it) kicked @!#@!#@!#.
As for the original topic... a while back (perhaps one and a half, to two years ago), I'd heard that it was to be based on team 254, the Cheesy Poofs, who are one of the most well-known team from the Bay Area, I would imagine... They have this nasty little habit of winning practically every local competition (including CalGames, this year)... #include <disclaimer.h> This could all be terribly wrong. Please don't base any wagers on the information provided in this post. No matter what I say, Bella(e?)rmine College Prep Robotics, team 254, will officially rox your sox, if you ever meet them. |
the best disney movie is "The Rookie" not only was it good but it was based on a true story
/me almost cried a few time near the end |
