Favorite Car

being that i am a huge car guy, i see it fit to have a "favorite car" poll. i have listed 10 cars that are both old and new, if the car you like isnt on the poll, feel free to post ur favorite car!!

Clark Gilbert 07-09-2002 11:48

Enzo

I voted for the Enzo Ferrari. I saw it in the new MotorTrend and it looks sweet. I would have also voted for the 2003 Subaru Impreza WRX. I'm also a big fan of the new H2, BMW M3, and BMW M5.

Madison 07-09-2002 12:17

I like my car because I can go outside right now, get in it, and drive away.

Last I checked (last night), there were two Deloreans on EbayMotors. One from 81, the other from 82, and both for less than $10k, if I recall correctly.

sanddrag 07-09-2002 13:34

Also postal Jeeps are cool (known as the DJ or Dispatcher). Take a look at www.postaljeep.com Can you believe that the government is destroying these vehicles that served our country for so many years?

Also, Old style Mini Coopers are kickin' and so are Baja Bugs.

Brant Bowen 07-09-2002 14:03

I voted for the Stingray, it is by far the best one on that list, but i happen to be quite partial to the El Camino myself.

Ryan Dognaux 07-09-2002 14:06

A black VW Bug, or a Jetta.

DanLevin247 07-09-2002 15:08

I voted for the NSX type R. How can you say no to a turbo? I would have voted for the vette, but 75' is the wrong year...it's all about the 76'! Huge displacemnt!

Jim Giacchi 07-09-2002 15:59

Can someone say Land Yacht?

I love cadillacs and fighter planes. This one combines them both. Tallest production fins on a car EVER and with a 390 cubic inch engine and 10 mpg (16 highway:-)) This car is a monster.

Ohhhhh Yeeeeaaahhh!!

Greg Perkins 07-09-2002 18:45

I love my '70 Ford F-250, its puke green, and rockin!

Badjokeguy

MBiddy 07-09-2002 19:40

Dodge Vipers are the coolest looking cars, although the '93-'94 ones look more stocky and powerful than the new ones. I want one. NOW.

mtaman02 07-09-2002 20:41

I don't see any mustangs.

I think mustangs are cool.

What Kinda car does everyone own. I don't own one but my parents have a 1994 Charcoal Gold 4 Door Dodge Intrepid.

There is definetly allready a thread about what type of car you have, I don't feel like finding it now but I know there is one.

I was wondering how that could NOT be on the list....

otherwise...I love my RX-7s

Clark Gilbert 08-09-2002 00:36

Addition To Post...

This is an addition to my first post (but later, needed to find time to scan pictures). But this right now is probably my #2 most favorite car after the H2, and right before the M5...

Yes..if you read the picture, all the info is true. I took it from the June 2002 issue of MotorTrend.

 TALK ABOUT FAST!

Amber H. 08-09-2002 14:24

I Know, this is seriously sappy, but I'm still emotionally attatched to my first car. It was my baby!
It was a 1962 Jeep Wagoneer that had been babied and pampered by this old guy for almost thirty years before I got it. Except for one of the seats, the interior was origional and immaculate. I adored it.
What can I say, I like the classics.

It was sadly destroyed a few years ago by a family member who shall remain nameless. (No it wasn't my kid brother, although he did drag race my 93 Dodge Caravan. I can laugh about it now)

[cough]ricer[/cough]

If you're going to like the 280s, then at least go for something more like the '75....

Joe3 10-09-2002 22:01

Ricer? I don't think so...

my car:
95 Integra GS-R

ceramic headers,
cold air intake,
greddy exhaust,
lowered 1 1/4 inches
racing rims
working toward putting in a turbo, but reinforcing the engine costs some mad $$.

AdamT 10-09-2002 22:18

um, if that isn't being a ricer, then I don't know what one is...

japanese car, lowered, rims, header, exhaust, etc...

I'm glad to see that a few of these things will actually boost the performance for your car, but this would make you a ricer...

Anyways, do you go to anything like VIR or Auto-X or anything like that?

Jeff Rodriguez 10-09-2002 23:49

Bill Gold 11-09-2002 00:13

psh! you guys and your Integra's, 280 ZX's, Ram 1500's, Mustang's, Corvette's, and all your other assorted predictable cars... A real man likes Trabants ;). If you've got no idea what I'm talking about, click on one of these links. Pic 1. Pic 2. Gotta give East Germany a little love ;).

Man. I miss my '96 Ford Windstar. My sister totaled it. *sigh*

Ricky Q. 11-09-2002 12:32

1982 Chevette, hands down....ask anyone on here that has seen it (Katie, DJ, or Jeremy) and they will tell you no different :D

Andy A. 11-09-2002 13:30

I'm surpirsed no one has mentioned the Miata.

It isn't very fast, but it's the most fun car I've ever driven.

One day people are going to look at them as classics. And I just happen to have a first year. ;)

Bah. They don't handle well enough to be fun.
The car that looks like it tho, the HOnda S2000, THAT is a fun car.:D

If you want to look at small cars like that.. there's always the Mercedes SLK230 Kompressor :D

Joe3 11-09-2002 15:53

I wouldn't call that being a ricer at all, I would take a ricer to be (this is exaggerated here) some guy with a civic LX automatic with a body kit, exhaust tips, a huge stereo, and so on...

All of those things I have add some function to the car which is the reason I have them.

Headers- help performance some, mainly a step toward reinforcing the engine so I can get a turbo

Intake- like 15 hp
Exhaust- like 15 hp
Lowering- better handling
Rims- lighter (yea, I guess there's no point to them, but they are white and go with my car, so whatever)

Just my thoughts..

Jestin McCarthy 11-09-2002 16:57

German beauty

1986 Porsche 959 Twin Turbo.......... Simply the most beautiful car ever made.

0-60 in 3.6 seconds

over 400 HP

top speed 200 MPH

You only like that because of Gone in 60 seconds.
My favorite car is the McLaren F1 LM. It's the fastest road car out there. can go 0-100-0 in 11 seconds. 0-60 in 2.9 sec. cost:$1,200,000. only five were made. looks fast while standing still. just see the picture

Wrong. Never even seen the movie.

I like it because I used to drive one.

The first car I ever bought was a '73 Mustang Grande. A whale in comparison to most other Mustangs, but the 351 Cleveland in it was sweet. Eventually traded up to a '85 Mustang GT 5-speed T-top with the 5.0 litre V-8 (the last carbureted car built in America). Second gear in that car was a blast! Now I have a '97 Mustang GT 5-speed convertable with the 4.6 litre V-8 (missed the last 5.0 litre by two years, but I may still drop a larger block in it some day). Nice and snappy. The '68 Cobra was my cousin's, but I learned to love it before I even had my license. It made a Mustang fan out of me for life.
