Team 5720 Driving Question
Right now we are using the rhino treads from Andymark.com and the driving is a little weird. By that I mean that as you are going straight, it sometimes jumps/ slowly curves to the right when the joystick is completely straight. Like if you push down fully, it will go straight and then after about 15 feet or so it does a little jump to the right and then heads straight again.
This problem is also prevalent in our autonomous code. We use Labview to program. We have it set up like the first page in the link below, except that we are using the tank drive VI instead of the arcade drive VI, and when it is set to only go completely straight for more than 3 seconds, it jumps a little to the right like when we drive it. The only thing I can think of that could be wrong with this part at least is power distribution to the motors. I used Labview last year and know enough for basic programming but I don't know that logistics of everything and I don't know how I would fix that. When we run the robot we also get Error 44061-saying that a loop containing RobotDrive.vi isn't running fast enough, or something like that. file:///C:/Users/Mike/Downloads/[FRC%202015]%20Autonomous%20Timed%20Movement%20Tutorial.pdf |
Re: Team 5720 Driving Question
If your AUTO and manual drive have the same issue it is most likely an electrical or mechanical problem.
Issues could be one gearbox is not lubricated well, motors may be mounted incorrect, wires are loose. Give it a good step by step troubleshoot. |

Re: Team 5720 Driving Question
Are you using talons for your motor controllers and without them wired via CAN? We ran into this issue last year. Calibrating them fixed it.
